Isabelle and I returned and grabbed our things before heading off to class. As i sat there, the teacher droning on, i thought back to the day we procured the glowing orb. i wondered as to whether or not it had been a good idea to take the orb considering that now it seemed as though monsters from everywhere recognised the school's weakness because of it.
teacher: Ms. Nyx, am i boring you?
I look up confused, realising i had gotten lost in thought. the teacher stood in front of me with a scowl on her face, my confusion quickly turning to worry.
teacher: considering you think it appropriate to stop paying attention, i assume you must already know all of this.
nyx: no miss...
teacher: the next time i see you not focusing, ill have you doing essays am i clear?
nyx: yes miss...
as boring as it was for the rest of the lesson i put aside my thoughts and concentrated on my work. as the bell rang i bolted out of my chair and down the hallways towards niklause's class, hopping from one foot to another as i waited impatiently, watching each student walk out one after another before niklause finally strolled out, looking as bored as ever.
nyx: we need to talk.
niklause: ok? what is it you-
i grabbed his hand bolting down the hallway with niklause in tow, barely able to keep up with me. we made it round a corner and came grinding to a halt seeing kova walking out of the locker rooms.
nyx: kova, outside, now, important.
kova confusedly followed me and niklause as we made our way outside and to a quiet spot.
nyx: so you know how we've been getting those strange attacks and disappearances recently?
kova: yea?
nyx: well i was thinking about it over my calculus class and i realised, maybe its started happening now because we took that orb.
niklause and kova's faces turned to shock and worry.
niklause: are you sure? maybe one of the thief's just got away with whatever it was that had been keeping the school protected.
nyx: i vaguely remember all the artefacts in that place and of all of them, that orb seemed the most special. if it is, we need to return it or these attacks could get even worse, and we could end up in a lot of trouble!
kova sighed
kova: fine, do you have it on you?
nyx: its in my bag, which is in my locker.
kova: you need to get your bag before the end of the day, we can return it then.
niklause and i nod in agreement.
kova: i have another class now so i need to go.
nyx: crap, i do too and now im gonna be late!
i rush of towards my next class and kova shakes his head laughing before heading off himself and niklause sulked at thought of having to do more work and ambled off to his next class.
*2pm*
As the bell rings once again i look at my lesson plan.
nyx: yes! i have study period, plenty of time to get my bag.
i scoot off my chair and walk out of the classroom door and down the hallway towards my locker when i notice jack hanging out by it
jack: hello nyx, nice to see you today.
he smirks and i sigh
nyx: what do you want jack? im kind of busy at the moment.
jack:oh i dont mean to keep you, i was just thinking that you might want to know what i overheard the headmistress saying earlier.
intrigued i decide spending a little time listening to what jack has to say
