It was quiet here, silent even as I walked up the steep sloppy hill. My ankles feeling as if a ball and chain we're strapped to them dragging me downward. Every step feeling heavier and heavier.
My arms flop down to my side and drag along with my feet, my torso slouching forward.
Thud, thud, thud, thud. Great. Heavy rain paints my skin, soaking through my clothes and dampening my hair. I close my eyes for a moment imaging im anywhere else in the world.
That don't last as long as I hear my number yelled. My eyes snap open and I come face to face with the monster keeping us all here.
He growls. A deep, pit forming, a snarl that rumbles out from deep within his torso. The matted, dark brown fur that covers his body sticks to its self and is darkened even more by the rain. His eyes are soulless, dull and all black.
My heart races. My head spinning as I stare into the lifeless eyes of the monster that keeps us all trapped here. Every inch of my body screaming at me to run, get out of there, go!
But my body's stuck, my fear has transformed into superglue keeping my body in place. My mind goes numb. Im trapped.
Sharp, yellow claws grip my forearm the beast drags me to the side, away from the civilisation and into a small, dimly lit, empty, room. He's still glaring, soulless eyes boring into my skin. Shivers crawl there way up my skin as he finally lets go of my arm.
I take a step back. Mistake one.
I close my eyes as he reaches to drag me forward again. Mistake two.
I let the nerves crack their way through my usually stoic exterior. Mistake three.
Never. Let them know you're scared in these situations the beasts dont care they only want to hurt people. They feed on your fear and once they've started they never stop.
Once your inside one of these rooms you never leave.
