To : Baelynn
Get your butt down here!! Or your coffee will be mine. :P

I rolled my eyes at Violet's text, the girl doesn't have an ounce of patience in her 5 foot body.

I got up, pulled my skinny jeans and converse on and my leather jacket. My dirty blonde hair was a wreck so I straightened it.

"Braelynn!! Don't be late we don't want your perfect attendance record to suffer!" my mom shouted up the stairs.

I roll my eyes and push my messenger bag over my shoulder, keys in hand. I yell bye and run out the door.

Luckily my windshield wasn't covered with a layer of ice, so I sped off toward Cup of Joe Coffee Shop.

Violet and I go there every morning because she vows that she can't survive without her caffeine.

Or that she hates mornings.

I pull in to see her jumping up and down in her black as night peacoat with skinny jeans and ugg boots. I throw the door to my black 1995 BMW closed and walk to her.

"Where the hell have you been?!? If I die of hypothermia you will be paying for the funeral." She shouts as she thrusts my coffee in my hand.

I look into the coffee shop which is full of people chatting, sipping their lattees or readi g.

"You know you could have gone in and waited." I say and raise my eyebrows.

"I hate people. The festering warts of humanity are in there. Nasty little things." she points to the crowds of middle schoolers with hot chocolate in their hands.

I walk to the car, "Let's go drama queen. I need to be on time or mom will kill me."

Violet salutes me and we drive to Hollow Grove High-School.

I park near a bench that has been frozen over with ice, and Violet hops out bag and coffee in her hands. "Hey Bae? Since when did we get a drop dead gorgeous serial killer as a student here?" she asked her eyes locked on said serial killer.

I scoffed at her nickname for me, and turned around.

Not far from the bench is a huge oak tree, and against that tree was a tall boy clad in a black bikers jacket, dark jeans and black on black converse. With one foot propped against the trunk and a scowl on his face he surveys the students.

I feel Violet tugging on my jacket sleeve, "Let's go before we become little bits of pieces that live in his freezer!!" I laugh at her as she crosses her arms over her chest.

"Come on Vi, he doesn't look like a serial killer. Maybe just a loner." I look back at the tree but it's vacant now.  He must have left to go to the office. Ladies and Gentlemen, Hollow Grove has a new kid.

...........................................

We make it to our lockers before the bell rings, even with Violet turning around every minute to check around her which has labelled her as Crazy Chick by most kids.

I turn from my locker and take her by the shpulder, " Calm down, he's not a killer, and you aren't a victim. You are seriously overreacting."

She nods and takes deep breaths until she is calm enough to look normal.

I grab my books, then shut my locker and clip my lock on."I'll see ya at lunch. Try not to have a breakdown till then okay?" I pat her shoulder and she smiles. Good as new.

What about this kid makes me people think that on weekends he tortures animals and kills them? (a sure sign of a psychopath)

I was going to find out.

Mr. Simmens class wasn't exactly the best class in the world. A forty year old male with a receding hairline that wears baggy clothes everyday doesn't make it fun. Oh and he sucks at teaching, but hey it's icing on the inedible cake!

I put my stuff down and get out my notebook to take notes on the History lecture. Kids filed in, a few jocks sat to my left and kept arguing about who had the hottest girlfriend or best truck.

One, Jack I think was his name, turned to me and asked me, " Hey Braelynn, mind taking notes for me today? I don't feel too well." he smirked at me thinking I'd say yes.

A humorless laugh fell from my mouth, " Rough night, huh? Too much booze, maybe a one night stand that ended up leaving the next morning? I think you can manage writing your own notes."

Jack's face was blank and then that soon turned into anger. I was right then, typical high school jock.

He stumbled up and hovered over my desk, " You just think you're the queen don't you? You think you know about everyone and their business?" he asked already puffing and bouncing on his feet.

What a dumb-ass. I stood up and got close, not too close because of his awful breath, " I know this simply because of your pathetic look. Red eyes, stumbling walk anyone can see that you are hungover from your party last night."

He blinked and his ocean eyes were filled with anger, tinted with redness.

Mr. Simmens stood at the podium and heaved a big sigh, " Class has begun.  Braelynn take your seat. You as well Mr.Davidson." he stared Jack down until he slumped back in seat.

I strolled back around, my eyes fluttering over the majority of the class, one pair of eyes caught mine along with an amused smirk.

I turned and seated myself then I poised my pencil to write.

Mr. Simmens cleared his throat, and ran his wrinkled hand over his beard, " I forgot to mention our new student. Kai can you come forth to introduce yourself?"

Every eye turned back to look, and I obliged then I realized he was the one with the smirk.

He walked like he owned the school, and stood in the front, "I'm Kai Holland. I'm new." Mr. Simmens rolled his eyes, "Anything you'd like to share other than the obvious?" he asked.

Kai rolled his shoulders back and put his hands behind his back and batted his eyes at Mr.Simmens, " Nothing you need to know." he then turned his gaze to me and he tilted his head.

I felt like an animal that was being dissected, with the way he stared at me like wondering where to cut me next.

Mr. Simmens gripped his podium, " Okay. That's enough go sit down now, Holland."

Kai smirked and saluted Mr. Simmens then marched down the asile like a soldier.

Mr. Simmens then began his lecture to which I wrote every word.

The bell rang freeing us from the boring class. I dropped my things in my bag and then slipped it over my shoulder.

Kai was at the back of the class, hands behind his back and wandered around in a circle until I passed.

He jumped into step with me through the door, " That was impressive. Wouldn't want to rattle your cage," he said staring down and up my outfit.

He lifted his hand to his chin," Biker chick? Fighter? Or facade of a tough chick?"

I stared back at him, his dark eyes staring into mine daring me. "Actually it's none of the above. I am not pretending to be anyone. I am the smartest kid,and I like this style."

He laughed with his hand on his heart," You have yet to meet me. So no bike then? What? Are you scared?"

I rolled my eyes and propped my hip up against my locker that we've reached. "Hardly."

Kai nodded and rested his arm against the locker, "Is it now? I'm skipping lunch if you care to join me? Unless you can't skip or mother will be mad." he said the last part with an accent.

"I have to go to Art." I stood straight and walked away.

"I didn't get an answer!!" a voice faintly yells.

I'm the one wearing a smirk now.
