*Aria's P.O.V*
I was so excited. We had just arrived in Lanzarote, my favourite place, the most relaxing place, I just love it. My name is Aria by the way, Aria Wilson. The days post of the holiday and me and my family were having a brilliant time, the most fun we've had in years. What I didn't know, was my whole world was about to start falling apart around me.
One day she we were getting ready for a chilled day next to the pool, I asked my mum to put sun cream on my back to make sure it was all over...that was when she noticed. She noticed the right side of my back was not even, not even at all, there was a strange hump sticking out and neither me or my family had any idea what it was, or what was about to happen in the next few months. As none of us knew what it was, or how serious it was, we all carried on and enjoyed the rest of our holiday.
When we arrived home in England, my mum booked me in for an appointment to see my doctor, just to check it was nothing to be worried about. A few days later I saw a not so nice doctor that looked at my back and said 'you have scoliosis'. I had absolutely no idea what that word meant, what it was or how serious it was. She referred me to a spinal specialist, as this condition was too specialised for a normal doctor to deal with.
I waited and waited for my appointment.
I researched and researched until I understood a lot more and could tell my other members of my family and some of my friends, however no one really truly understood.
The more I looked at my back in the mirror, I honestly don't know how I hadn't realised or someone else hadn't realised sooner, because it was already so severe.
At this point, none of us were too worried but it became scarier and scarier the more I read up about it, I really didn't want surgery, it would ruin everything....
