New Job

I walked into my work office. Taking out my id card from my wallet and sliding it through the scanner to check myself in for the day.
Y/N: "Good morning Irene." I said as I slid the card back into its original place.
She looked up and gave me a warm smile before saying the same to me.
Irene: "Oh Y/N the boss wants to see you for something."
She informed, making me furrow my eyebrows out of confusion.
I was never called into the boss's office, let alone rarely even see the guy so this was definitely setting some alarms off but I quickly pushed those thoughts aside. After all, I was a diligent worker and there was no reason for him to call me into his office for something bad.
Y/N: "Did he say why?" I asked her as I walked into the locker rooms as Irene scurried behind me.
Irene: "No he didn't, sorry Y/N." She said as she leaned her body onto the opposite side of lockers from me.
I let out a loud sigh as I shut my locker door, spinning the dial to secure my belongings behind the metal door. Standing up straight I moved my braided hair over my shoulder as I stretched my arms.
Y/N: "Alright then, might as well get this over with." I said as I started to walk out of the room.
Irene: "Good luck Y/N!" She called out after me just as I walked out of the door towards my boss's office.
I stopped right outside the door. Taking a deep breath to calm myself down before I knocked lightly on the door. Getting the queue to come inside soon after.
Boss: "Oh Y/N good to see you. How are you doing today?" He asked as he put his pen down as he gave me his full attention.
Y/N: "Oh um I'm pretty good sir, how about yourself?" I asked with a hint of nervousness in my voice which I repeatedly scolded myself for (in my head).
Boss: "I'm doing very well thank you. But you must be wondering why I asked for you here am I right" He asked making me nod my head a little.
Boss: "Don't worry you aren't in trouble or anything in fact its quite the opposite. Please sit." He said as he gestured to the chair opposite of him for me to sit in.
Boss: "So, there is a medium-size group that called us to ask if we can provide them a tour guide but the only hitch is that they need someone who is fluent in Korean." He said making the situation clear to me, as I was the only one in the office that could speak more than one language. And it happened that I could speak a few including Korean.
Boss: "So I figured that you would be the perfect person for the job." He said making me nod my head agreeing with him.
Y/N: "sure thing, when do they want to do?" I asked as he took a stack of papers on his desk, tapping them lightly on the hardwood to make sure that they are all perfectly aligned.
Boss: "That's the thing. They are coming today." He said as my eyes widened.
Y/N: "wait what?" I asked trying to make sure that I heard him right.
Boss: "yes, today. And they are looking to camp and travel the area for multiple continuous days which means that you will have to stay overnight as well." He informed making me let out a sigh as I contemplated what I wanted to do.
Y/N: "For how many days exactly?" I asked.
Boss: "seven days." He informed making me look around the room as I thought about it.
Not gonna lie, staying in the woods with a bunch of tourists was not something that I enjoyed. I could handle a few hours with them, but a whole week. I wasn't so sure about that.
Boss: "They are willing to pay you double per day as well." He added
Hmmm. I was definitely not the type of person to take advantage of a situation like this. But I would be lying if I said that I couldn't use some extra cash. Especially with my final year of college coming up.
Y/N: "Fine, I'll do it. But do they need me to bring any supplies or something? And I also don't have everything I need to-" I asked.
Boss: "They have all of the gear they need, but you need to bring your own. So grab anything you might need for the overnights, hiking, biking, and diving you need from the back room. They'll be here around noon to get you." He interrupted making nod my head.
Y/N: "They'll get me?" I asked
Boss: "Yes so be ready. You are free to go." He said
We said our goodbyes and I headed out of his office. Walking into the back with Irene trailing behind asking me a slur of questions about what just happened. Continuing on asking as I started collecting what I would take with me.
Irene: "So who are these mysterious foreigners?" She asked as I shrugged.
Y/N: "Honestly I have no idea, but I'll find out soon enough. As they'll get me in about an hour and a half." I said as I slid some of the clothing we had in stock into my backpacking backpack.
Irene: "They're picking you up?! OMG! What if they are like hot! this could be your chance to finally get laid you know." she teased as I gave her an annoyed look.
Irene: "Don't give me that look. You know I'm right." she hummed as she walked over to the mirror. Fixing her slightly curled hair.
Irene: "Well if you don't want to take a chance with them. At least tell them that you have a super hot and nice friend over here that would love to get it on." she said as she turned around giving me a little smile as she tilted her head to the side.
Y/N: "of course Irene. The only thing is you can't speak Korean for the life of you." I chuckled making her let out a little huff.
Irene: "You know that you can communicate in more ways than one. You should try it sometime." She added making me let out a fake gag.
Y/N: "Yeah no thank. My idea of a "good time" does not involve clients." I said as I shook my head.
Irene: "God your so boring. But promise me you'll fill me in on all the juicy details when you get back. Okay?" She asked.
Y/N: "Promise." I sighed as I connected my picky with hers, making her let out an excited squeal.
