That weekend, Sawyer and I went on a date to Starbucks. Not too fancy, but romantic all the same. I ordered a refresher and we sat down at one of the tables for two. We were talking about prom when Kelly walked in. She saw us, bought a drink, and walked over.
"Hey, Paris. Hey Sawyer. What's up?" she said, grabbing a chair.
"Um... we were just on a date. Didn't know you were coming here," Sawyer cleared his throat.
Kelly chuckled, "Haha. Was passing by and thought I'd get a drink."
"Right. Well, what are you thinking for prom? It's in a month," I said. Kelly shrugged and glanced at Sawyer when she thought I wasn't looking. What was going on with them?
"Sawyer, we should go. My mom wants me home by three to help with my cousin's homework." I stood up, throwing the cup away.
"Why don't you go? Sawyer and I can stay," Kelly suggested.
Sawyer looked around nervously. "Um...well, I guess," he blushed. Kelly smiled at him.
"Fine," I said, stomping out of the shop, confused.
