"Bye, mom!" Boruto wished his mother on his way out of the house. He was meeting up with his friends at their usual hangout spot, a fast-food joint called ThunderBurger.

"Bye, mom!" Himawari also wished her mother as she followed Boruto.

13-year-old Himawari had become a wonderful genin, while Boruto was away, alongside two others whom she spent the day-long academy session: Ehou Norimaki and Yuina Itomaki. She was also going to hang out with them at ThunderBurger.

Himawari had also grown remarkably beautiful, and looked mature for her age. She was beginning to look exactly like her mother, Hinata.

As Boruto and Himawari reached ThunderBurger, their friends greeted them enthusiastically as they beckoned them to their tables. "Boruto! Hima!" They waved and cheered.

Inojin suddenly stood up and his jaw dropped as he gaped at the beautiful Himawari. Himawari smiled at him kindly and blushed. While Boruto was away, these two would often steal glances at one another in case they passed by each other, yet Inojin never mustered the courage to approach or talk to her. Shikadai nudged Inojin, and closed his mouth, snapping the latter out of his thoughts.

Himawari took a seat beside her teammates, while Boruto sat at a table with Mitsuki, Shikadai, Inojin, Iwabe, Metal, and Denki. Sarada and Chocho sat across from each other at a nearby table. Everyone made sure their tables were near each other so they could talk to each other easily. Then, they all ordered food.

Just then, Sarada started the conversation, "So Boruto, how was training with my dad?"

Everyone eagerly listened as he took a bite of his super sour lemon burger, and began to answer, "Well our journey was as bittersweet as this burger. Sweet as it lasted, and bitter as the memories we made are no more to come for the time being." Boruto sheepishly began to scratch his head.

Shikadai nearly choked on his burger as he grew shocked at this new philosophical side of Boruto. Sarada literally burst out laughing, unashamed, and replied, "Maybe my dad really did give you a hard time. Wouldn't expect any less from him."

Mitsuki maintained his usual smile, while his eyes grew intrigued at a new side of Boruto, a boy he saw as his sun.

Boruto hung his head awkwardly as Sarada's comment hit the nail in the on the head.

"Right so then, one day...Sasuke-san and I were caught in a huge storm! It started to rain and pour and hail..." Boruto began an over-exaggerated story full of dramatics, "I thought it was over for us.....and then....2 giant snakes came to save us and then.....I saved the day with......my Boruto Stream and Rasengan!!!!" Boruto triumphantly finished.

Sarada just facepalmed, and everyone else burst out laughing. Despite being away for so long, Boruto hadn't changed a bit, and was still entertaining everyone with his antics.
