"Logan, wake the fuck up!" I heard my brother calling from down the hall. Fuck, how did he get in? I rubbed my eyes and crawled out of bed and made my way down the hallway. Jason was sitting at my kitchen counter, a bag of what looked to be food next to him. I groaned, "why are you here?" As I sat next to him, grabbing the bag and helping myself to a bagel.
He chuckled as he took a bite of his. "Because, it's your day off duh. And, because its nearly ten and you need to get out of this apartment." He was right, I really did need to get out. It had been a few days since I had really been anywhere but work and home. I just had a spurt of depression I suppose, sad that three years ago today our parents died.
Jason seemed to have a better grip on it, but I was a mess. My mom and my dad were everything to me, but I knew I needed to move on for them and myself. "So, what's the plan then?"
Jason sighed as he slid a paper across the table to me. I read the words on the small certificate. "Really, Jas? A spa day?" He laughed and nodded, taking another bite. "You need it, you look like a train plowed into you. Plus," he said singsongy, "I got an exclusive invitation to a mansion party tonight. We're going," he smirked over at me.
I shook my head, "fuck that bro-" before I could finish he had his hand held up. "No, we are going. It's actually business related for me, a possibility for a new client," he said as he stood to throw away the empty bag. Jason was a really good cinematographer, and I knew he took his work pretty seriously.
I groaned again, finishing my food as I looked at him sadly. He just smiled, sliding the certificate towards me. "I already set you up, appointment is in an hour. Get relaxed, get ready, and I'll be back here around four," and with that he was out the door.
Jason was a great older brother honestly. I was a little excited to go and get pampered, quickly getting up and ready for the day. I thought about the party later, who is was and where it was. I shrugged as I finished getting ready and heading out the door.
I was at the spa, the polite woman led me into a back room as I got undressed and onto the table. First a massage, then a steam bath followed by a facial. I didn't realize Jason got me the full package as I was led to the salon side of the building. They quickly went to work, giving my nails and body a full makeover. I left feeling like a new person, and in that moment I was so grateful for my brother.
The day came and went and a few minutes past four, Jason arrived and ushered us to his car. I was dressed in a slightly ripped pair of darker denim jeans and a black crop top. I let my long brown hair go loosely around my shoulders, a simple makeup look as well. Jason smiled at me as we backed out of my driveway and headed down the road.
"Thank you for today, I loved it, truly. How did I get so lucky?" I asked as I punched Jason's shoulder. He cried out, laughing as he did the same to me. "You and I have been through a lot, and I just wanted you to know I love ya sis," he said as he smiled, focused on the road again. A few moments later we had pulled up in front of a gate, a buzzer went off as it opened and we made our way up the driveway.
"Oh, yeah, so where exactly are we?" I finally asked, realizing I was unfamiliar with the property. He smiled and cleared his throat, "this is Post Malone's house. I got an invite a few days ago from a buddy to come out and discuss some potential work. Tonight, we are celebrating exactly that," he smiled as he put the car in park.
"Wait- what!?" I practically squealed out. He chuckled as he got out, shutting his door and quickly making his way over to mine. I just sat there glaring at him under my lashes. He shrugged as I folded my arms over my chest. "You should've told me, I'm not okay with this," I finally said, almost a whisper. He sighed and leaned against the open car door.
