Over the moon

Chapter one

"Kiiiiit get your ass up" Annette says.
"How's you get here" I half asleep slur.
"Well I asked someone to let me in so I could get you up for potions" Annie says.
"You mean I gotta start my day with snivelous and good ole sluggy. Fan freaking tastic" I exclaim.
"Could be worse you could be partnered with the marauders" Annie says.
"Hey! Wolf wolf isn't too bad. He just tags along to everything Sirius and James do" I say defending the poor guy.
"You only say that because you're infatuated with the guy and his name. Baby Fox Fox" Annie laughs at me.

I stand up and shove Annie away before she sees me blushing. I hurry into the bathroom and try not to think of the gorgeous guy we were just talking about. His sandy brown hair and his gorgeous eyes.

Damn it. I am enthralled by the man. Too bad he will never know. I can't tell him not now, not ever. So I will just stare from afar at the man.

I hurry and dress into my uniform and robes. I brush my hair and add a little bit of makeup. Once I'm done I bewitch my outfit so it doesn't get ruined by any pranks by James and Sirius. I scowl slightly thinking of the troublemakers that Remus hangs out with.

I burst out of the room. "Today is going to be a good day!"
"Where is the real kit and can I have her back" Annie asks sarcastically.
"Oi shut it" I snap at her.
"Were you thinking of snogging Remus" she asks.
"No I wasn't thank you very much" I snap. I wasn't thinking about it then but I sure am now. I loudly sigh. Annie looks at me with concern.
"You still aren't going to tell him you like him are you" she dejectively sighs.
"No" I say. "Now let's get to potions."

In the hallway

"James we're running late come on" I hear someone say. I come around the corner and get trampled by four boys.
"Watch where you're going. Gryffindor royalty coming through" James rudely says, smirking slightly. I scoff ignoring them.
"Hey! I said watch it don't ignore me" James repeats grabbing my arm.
"You're the one that ran into me dude. Now let go of me" I say trying to break his hold off my arm.
He tightens his grip," No you're just a slytherin anyway. Garbage to be thrown out," he maliciously says with an evil look on his face.
"Please just let go. Someone help please" I start screaming like my life depends on it. I look around for Remus, maybe he will step in. I make eye contact with him basically pleading with my eyes for him to save me.
"Prongs let her go. You're starting sound like a terrible human being and Lily won't ever date you if you do that" Remus speaks up. I thank him with my eyes.
"Going soft for a slytherin, are you" Sirius says.
"James let her go or I'll owl your mother" Remus says again since James still hasn't let go of me.
"Fine! Have her then" James says throwing me at Remus. He catches me with ease as the other boys run off.
"Are you okay" Remus asks staring into my eyes. In that exact moment I realize who is holding me and freak out inside. I see just how pretty his eyes are while he's looking at me.
"Um uh huh" I mumble out.
"Did you hit your head? Did you need to see miss pomfrey" he asks with concern. I just nod my head because I can't answer his verbally.

He carefully walks me to the infirmary and tells her what happens. She looks at me and realizes something.
"Alright mr. Lupin you may go now. Here's a note explaining why you're late today" she hands him a paper and sends him on his way. He walks out of the infirmary and she turns to me.
"You can talk now can't you" she questions with a twinkle in her eye.
"Well maybe" I shyly say.
"You're over the moon about him aren't you" she accuses.
"Uh well yeah I am. I can't tell him though because his friends are bullies to me just because I'm a slytherin" I say slowly.
"Oh darling. You can't hide your feeling forever. You'll end up even more broken hearted" she says with all knowing wisdom.
"Can I skip today I have class with James and Sirius next and I don't want to face them yet" I beg.
"Yes but you'll have to face them tomorrow" she says.
"That's fine. Can you do anything about the giant bruise on my arm" I plead. I don't want anyone to know what happened I think to myself.
"Sadly I can't. That must heal on it own. Would you like me to send James to Dumbledore's office" she nicely asks.
"No that's quite alright. I don't want more people to know than necessary" I say moving towards the exit.
"Alrighty dear. Try to avoid the boys" she says waving me away.

Remus's point of view

I can't believe the boys did that. That's messed up on so many different levels. She was innocent, we ran into her and James had the audacity to blame her just because she's slytherin. What the ever living fuck! They're going to hear about it later. And the girl she looked terrified when James was speaking. Oh my god she was terrified he was going to oh no. I'm going to make him apologize.

I want to make her feel better after what the guys did. I decide that I'll ask her to hogsmeade and treat her something she likes. Hopefully she doesn't decline.

As she comes out of the infirmary she accidentally knocks into me again. I catch her from falling on the floor. She looks at me in horror.

"Did you hear what madam pomfrey and I were discussing" she says worried.
"What? No I just want to walk you back to wherever so the boys would leave you alone" I say scratching the back of my neck.
"Oh well that's sweet of you" she says. I start blushing at the fact she thinks I'm sweet.
"Are you okay now" I ask worried about her.
"Oh yeah except for this giant bruise on my arm. Luckily I already know how to hide bruises" she's accidentally says.
"Wait why do you need to hide bruises" I ask almost rushed.
"It's no big deal really. I gotta go" she says rushing away from me.

Is she abused? But by who? Why would they hurt her? It explains why she was so jumpy around James. I try and think of who and why. I end up walking into James and Sirius.

"Hey man where were you in class" James asks.

I grab him by his collar and shove him against a wall.

"You will apologize to Kit right away, you hear me" I say pissed off again.
"Yo Remus what the hell. It's just a slytherin" James says unknowingly.
"She's been abused and you terrified the shit out of her. So you will apologize immediately" I say growling at him.
He looks taken back. "Are you sure about that" he questions.
"Trust me on this one okay" I say. I contemplate telling them what she accidentally told me. "You can't tell anyone but she told me that she's used to hiding bruises."
"Wait I left a bruise" he exclaims breaking away from my grip. "Who have I become. My mother would murder me if she found out I laid a hand on a woman and left a mark even!"
"I tried to to tell you but you wouldn't listen" I say knowing I was right.

The boys spend the rest of the day trying to hunt down where Kit went. I found her easily with the map that I refused to let them have. I slowly approach where it says she is but wait there's a Fox right there. That can't be...

"Kit? Is that you" I quietly exclaim. The fox looks up, almost in horror it seems, and darts ainto the forest. I follow behind quickly but lose sight of the fox. As I retreat back out I hear foot steps behind me.
