As you know, Pokemon are creatures that assemble almost real life things in our world. They also have different food (their own) as well. Well my theory is, from the first season, there was some reference that there were real life food in the series before they all vanished into thin air... I am guessing that fruits and vegetables are not there as well. But there is....
In Sun and Moon (Season 3 of the Region and 22 Overall), Episode 124 : Living On A Cutting Edge, there is a vegetable ready to cut by Kartana...

Okay, the picture has been photobombed by Mallow's father..... (-_-;) But as you see, there is a lettuce over there and Kartana above is ready to cut....
And before that, In the First Season of Pokemon, there was some episodes that shown some real-life animals existed in the Pokemon World...

I don't even remember where I have seen Chickens or Lobsters throughout the Indigo League season....
But it was kinda confusing after releasing these kind of things.... But one thing for sure, Macarons are also famous in Pokemon World....
