"Harry, still there mate?" Liam's voice echoed through the phone.
"Yeah, sorry. Sure, I'll go if Niall does."
"Of course Nialler's coming! Think he'd pass this up?" Liam continued rambling on about private islands and a lack of paparazzi. Not that they're much of an issue anymore, almost five and half years after the retirement of One Direction, who would really care anyway?
Harry inhaled slightly in preparation, "Li, is Louis coming?"
Liam's excited chatter stopped almost immediately midsentence. There was a pause, a silent moment between the two, where Harry almost thought the call dropped. This was rare, for Liam was the type of person who rambled almost incessantly to avoid lulls in a conversation. "Yeah, yeah he is. El and him are taking the later flight."
Harry licked his lips. They were chapped. They were almost always chapped. Something Louis used to tease him about.
"Look, I know it's going to be a tad awkward at first, but by the end I'm sure this will be a holiday that you're glad you didn't miss out on!" Liam returned to his much merrier self with those last few words.
"Alright, Li. See you then. Give Sophia my love."
"Bye mate. See ya soon then."
The phone clicked, signaling that Liam had hung up. Harry kept the phone pressed to his face, listening to the dial tone hum endlessly. Or what seemed like endlessly, until he returned focus back to this impromptu holiday.
How bad could it be? Afterall, he had his best mates there, Niall would be willing to go out with him every night, and a tropical escape would be just what he needed. A temporary relief in his normally lonely state.
