There are three cars taking six children to their new foster home on a nice spring day in May. In one car, there is a girl by the name of Michelle. Michelle is quite smart and mature for the age of 10. She holds herself up firmly in posture and tries her best to keep a positive attitude in uncertain and challenging times like these. She looks out of the window as she watches houses and trees pass by the car as she sits in the passenger seat being driven to another unfamiliar home by a driver she doesn't recognize. All she knows is that CPS, the ones who are to protect her, allowed her to be driven to the new house by this person. She figures he was hired by the new foster parents and this was his job, as he wore what most professional drivers would wear, so she wasn't worried. Michelle takes a deep breath in and out as she tries to straighten her white sundress that she chose for the occasion of meeting the new foster parents. She then pulls down the sun visor and looks into its mirror, looking at her light brown eyes, her long and curly chestnut hair, and the many freckles that covered her nose and cheeks. She smiled and nodded to herself as she felt satisfied with the way she looked.

Michelle then starts to hear a commotion coming from the backseat as her two twin sisters Sadie and Maddie are laughing and playing with a stuffed monkey and unicorn, which turned into fighting over who got which stuffed animal. As the twins began to get loud and throw mini tantrums, Michelle turns around in her seat and looks at them dead in the eyes with a serious look that causes them to quiet down and sink into their booster seats. Michelle feels that she has a lot of responsibility with her three-year-old sisters and hardly allows others to take on the mother role that she feels. Her sisters always seem to cause some mischief and get into trouble, but Michelle knows how to control them while most others don't. She is also one of the only people who can tell the two girls apart. Sadie is more of a follower and is more reserved than her twin sister Maddie. Maddie is the one who starts the trouble and is not afraid to speak her mind. Also, when Michelle gets onto them, Sadie gets more upset and quieter than her sister, while Maddie gets mad, crosses her arms in anger, and makes grunts to show how irritated she is. As the ride continues, the sisters are currently starting to get loud again and cause trouble as they are trying to get out of their seats and look out of the sunroof, Michelle waits for the driver to slow down to a stop. She goes to sit between her sisters in the backseat before they continue the drive so that she can make sure the twins are not going to keep up these antics. The twins are now ecstatic that their older sister has joined them in the backseat and begin to smile.

Michelle asks her sister, "Are you two ok?" The twins nod and allow Michelle to continue, "I think we're gonna be fine, especially if we're together. I've heard the foster parents are very sweet. I believe they also have plenty of room for you two to run around and have fun."

The twins smile wide as they look at each other with excited expressions, which makes Michelle smiles as well as she tries and look on the bright side. The driver looks into the rearview mirror and notices just how similar the three sisters are. The little twins look like mini versions of their older sister. Michelle smiles at the driver through the rearview mirror and the driver smiles back. Michelle looks at her sisters and kisses each of them on their heads, thinking of everything they have been through in life. She knows that her sisters are the most important people in her life and couldn't imagine if they ever got split up through this foster process. Michelle knows that she would never allow that to happen, especially if she could help it.

In the second car driving to the same foster house, there are two brothers by the names of Noah and Liam. Noah was the older one at twelve years old who was quite nervous about going to a new foster house. He can't get his mind off of what could happen, what the foster parents would be like, or if something will happen that could separate him and his younger brother. Noah sits in the backseat behind the passenger seat zoned out most of the time. He is occasionally brought back to reality when his brother, who he often finds annoying, asks loud and frequent questions, such as, "Are we there? About what time will we be there? Noah, what time is it? Can I have a snack?" Noah tries to not lose his temper with his brother and will even try and answer his brother as he known Liam is just as nervous. Liam's outbursts is potentially how he deals with the new situation, especially seeing as he is only six. Liam also thinks too much into what to wear, how to look, and his first impression in meeting the foster parents. Liam chose to wear a buttoned-up shirt and kakis as he wanted to be proper. Liam would say that he wants to dress like a man and that he is wearing his man-suit, which would make Noah laugh. For Noah, he wants to just be himself and be comfortable, so he chose to wear what he would wear most days, which consists of a dark baggy shirt and blue-jeans. Noah runs his hands through his black hair that falls  into face as he tries to swoop it to the side and knows that he probably needs a haircut.
