The molly sat and watched
what else could she do?
so young, not trained
but she had to protect her camp
even when she was three moons old
she should be in the nursery with her mother
wait-
like all the others
her mother was gone
same with her littermates
but what could you do?
this was a war, you couldn't be too soft
unless you wished for death.
