The woman was pretty short compared to him, and from afar, she reminded Chiara of herself. Her long brown hair, tan skin, and innocent looking face angered Chiara. She was beautiful.
Fuck this. She mumbles before approaching the two.
"Dominic!" she says with fake excitement laced in her voice. He turns around and faces his angel.
"Chiara?" he smiles, "what are you doing here?"
"Just getting some food. Who's this?" she urges.
"Oh! This is Mariana, an old friend of mine" he introduces, "and Mariana this is Chiara, one of my patients."
"Nice to meet you, Chiara" her smile meeting Chiara's emotionless face. Mariana, confused, looks up at Dominic and that's when she sees something in his eyes she hadn't seen in years. Love. So this wasn't just any patient. She looks at Chiara's eyes and sees pure evil.
While Dominic and Chiara talk about god knows what, Mariana sees the teen sending her hateful glares, which confuses her, did she do something?
"Dom, I'm gonna go." she interrupts, "Just text me later and stay safe. It was nice meeting you, Chiara."
Dominic says goodbye to his friend and returns his attention to Chiara.
"What did she mean by stay safe?"
"Well," he sighs, "She saw me getting a bottle and knows how hard I tried staying clean. She just wants me to stay clean."
"So she's telling you to not have fun anymore?" Chiara teases. "I don't know if I like her, she gave me a weird glance."
"What? Mariana would never do that" he huffed.
"Well she did" her tone confused Dominic.
Chiara was addicted to a fast-paced life, and that's why she loved New York; she could fuck anyone, do as many drugs her body could handle, steal anything, and say anything. And right now, she missed this rush. She felt bored, and that was unacceptable to her.
"I need to go home, I have some work to finish" he states. She pulls him into a deep kiss, which he doesn't return.
Watching him leave the store, she thinks about what would happen if she breaks him.

The instant she got home, her parents tried sitting her down to have a talk. Chiara was not in the mood to talk. She walked right past them, ignoring their calls.
"Shut the fuck up!" she yells before slamming her room shut. Her anger was uncontrollabe and if they'd interfere, something dangerous would happen.
Alessandro and Selma sat downstairs, feeling helpless as their daughter screamed in her bedroom.

Getting home shortly after saying his goodbyes to Chiara, Dominic changes into comfortable clothes and sits down not knowing what to do for the rest of the night.
Looking over at the kitchen counter, he sees the bottle of alcohol Mariana almost stopped him from buying. It wouldn't have been in his home if Chiara didn't show up, she was everywhere, even if she didn't intend to. Mariana didn't want to see him fall into that path again, no one did, he deserved better.
Dominic starts thinking about the one person he's incapable of forgetting. Chiara. There was something about her that intrigued him, and it wasn't her sociopathic side. She blinded him to that. The way she held herself up with so much grace and elegance made him think otherwise of her and that was how she tricked him.
Unscrewing the bottle, his face remains unfazed as he takes gulps, immune to the taste. Dominic stumbles to his bedroom before collapsing on his bed.
His vision became blurry until he couldn't hold them in anymore. Tears stained his face as he pulled his knees to his chest, shaking uncontrollably.
"Why am I down here again? What's happening to me? I'm fucking miserable." He repeated over and over.
Suddenly his door opens and Mariana walks in.
"Hey Dom, did you forget about movie night—" she stops as she hears his quiet sobs. Rushing to his bed, bending down to his level and looking into his eyes. "How much did you drink?" she asks worried but doesn't get a reply. She nods her head not needing an answer.
Mariana tucks a crying Dominic into bed and lays next to him. He sobs onto her shoulder and she caresses his back.
"¿Dónde me equivoqué? ¿Qué hice? ¿Por qué estoy tan jodido?" he chokes. [Where did I go wrong? What did I do? Why am I such a fuck up?]
"Shh... just breathe Dominic" she soothes, helping him fall asleep.
Anyone who meets Dominic for the first time sees him as a strong man, and sadly for him, that was Chiara's favorite type to destroy.
