Carter's POVI hopped in the car and left my girlfri- my ex girlfriend's house. I'm not even surprised that she cheated on me again. I gave her enough chances to prove herself to me but she never used them for good. Now i know for sure that she doesn't deserve me. I wanted to cry but i couldn't, there aren't tears left to cry. U know when u cried the whole relationship so u didn't cry when u break up? yep, it's like that for me.
Even if i didn't cry, it still hurted. It's still heavy. I thought that maybe going to the cafe and chatting with my best friend will help me distract myself from the heaviness that i feel. So i decided to hop in my car and drive to the cafe.
Me and my best friend elise owned a coffee shop, we were coffee addicts when we were college and we met at the lib at a university we used to go too. We wouldn't be best friends rn if she didn't spill coffee at me, it was a blessing in disguise.
I parked my car and got out. the coffee been aroma quickly greeted me as i went in. As i make my way to the counterz, i met an unfamiliar face.
Ah, she must be the new employee.
Her bright brown eyes showed inviting emotions to me as i get closer, the curls of her hair lays aimlessly on her shoulders and turns brown when the sunlight hits it. She mouthed words at me but i couldn't understand anything. I just stood there as i look at her and as my mind wander abt my ex girlfriend.
"Ma'am?" She called and i tensed up.
"Oh, what is it again" I said.
"I said, what can i help u with?"
I decided to just iced coffee to not embarrass myself more.
"Sweetie, Carter! i didn't know u were coming at work today!" Elise said.
"Yeah, i changed my mind." I replied and shot her a 'meet me at the back' look and she just noded.
"oh hey sabrina, this is carter the other owner of the cafe. Carter, this is sabrina the new part timer i've been talking abt." Elise smiled.
she covered her mouth in shock, ''oh my gosh im so sorry i thought u were a customer!"
"its all good don't worry" I replied.
As the new girl makes the drink, i took it as an opportunity to talk to elise. We went at the back and i told her everything. Being my best friend, she hugged me and told me that my ex doesn't deserve me. That I'll find someone who will treat me right someday.
After that, we went outside and sabrina gave me my iced coffee. She had this, sympathetic look in her eyes. It was beautiful, it was sincere. And maybe sincerety is what i need right now.
Hours passed and Im now walking out of the cafe, on my way to the car when i noticed sabrina on the car. She looked frustrated, she got out of the car and started walking. So i got in my car and drove to her. I told her to get in my car, she didn't want to at first but i managed to convince her.
While i was driving the car i couldn't help but to look at her. How her fingers twist her hair when she's nevous, how her cheeks flushes red when she catches me staring, i know it's different. She has brown eyes, i know it's cliché- but why does the pair of brown eyes she has differs from every brown eyes i saw?
"so, sabrina right?" i said.
"yes ma'am, sabrina smith."
"so sabrina, tell me about yourself" i said while smiling.
"oh, there's not much to tell really. Im 18, i still go to school and i applied for a job bc i have nothing to do after school. That's it, i think." she replied.
