Explaining the current controversy
International fans and C-netizens alike are currently fuming at the fact that Xu Yiyang didn't make the debut group. Weibo users have taken records of the donations charts before ranking closure and it was noted that Xu Yiyang's donations were higher than that of the trainee ranked 7, Zhang Yifan. Currently C netizens are calling out Tencent for possible vote manipulation and asking them to explain. Many fans are extremely heartbroken by the idea of Yiyang and Xiening's separation and currently a video of Yiyang wiping Xiening's tears is trending on Weibo.
When the ranking was released many people were shocked as the large majority of fans expected Yiyang to debut, with "Yiyang didn't debut" ranking number 3 on Weibo trending list for a long period of time, trending higher than than the actual group itself.
Netizens notice that during the finale of the last Chuang episode while the other trainees were joyful, Xiening looked miserable and downcast standing at her spot. During their debut performance Xiening was still noticeably upset.
I guess what I have to say in response to this issue is that if you are upset (as many of us, including myself are), please take up the issue with Tencent, not Zhang Yifan. I'm worried for her because she's a delicate girl who likely won't be able to withstand all the hatred issued her way. So, just to repeat, PLEASE DO NOT send hate to Zhang Yifan. Instead, we should be angry at Tencent for what clearly seems like vote manipulation and we're going to have to wait until they come out with an official statement (if they do at all)
