The Void

Chapter 4

"That's crazy... we'll die", said Mark.

"Yes", he replied, "but I can give you the information you oh so desperately need and you can be my refugees."

I was going to protest but Mark said, "Done."

We walked out into the lift, we got out of the lift. The fight had already settled, we got out of the bar.

I asked Mark, "What was all that about?"

He replied, " Come on you need training anyways."

"Ok, I don't get this at all" I said, "What do you mean by training."

"The Kid payed us to show you the ropes,"he said gesturing towards Daniel, "how I unlocked my powers was by fighting in a giant battle, I think the same applies to."

"This is crazy", I said stopping suddenly, " I don't even know why I'm here."

"You're here because we're your best hope", said Mark pointing at my chest, "and deep inside you know that."

"We don't have a car", said Green.

"Well, we can just steal one", said Mark, "can't we."

"No way", I replied.

"Oh come on", he said, "these guys are perfect."

There were 5 guys, walking towards a covered jeep.

Before I could say anything, He started running at them and said, "Just don't kill em."

He ran at the first guy and punched him in the gut, another guy hit him in the face. We all ran to help him. I punched one of them and he staggered. I threw him to the side of the jeep and punched him in the gut until he crumpled. I looked around and a guy was beating the crap out of Green. Everyone else was too busy so I ran at him and threw him off, punched him in the gut and threw him to the ground, then I knocked him out with a couple kicks to the gut.

"I could have handled that.", Green said wiping her bloody nose.

"I know.", I replied with a smile.

Then I got punched, the guy who punches really hard then threw me to the ground and started hammering into me. Green threw him off me and punched him until he went down.

"I could have handled that", I said.

"I know", she replied.

We got up and helped Mark and Daniel finish off the others. Then, we got in the covered jeep and Green started driving.

We were camping in the woods right outside the assassin research camp.

"Ok so we go through disguised as assassins, hack literally everything that comes in our way and get to the main research area." said Mark revising our plan.

"Yeah, ok", I said.

I didn't think I was ever going to do this, this whole time I'd been running along with these guys, how can I trust them. I looked at the both of them, Mark seemed ok and I kind of liked Green, there was nothing else I could do there so I followed them out of the tent.

We put on our fake uniforms and walked to the gate and gave them our fake i.d and that was it we were in. We moved through the blinding white halls. Mark had taken the lead, no one really suspected us until we reached what looked like the main lab.

We tried to go through and the guard said, "I.D"

Mark said something about losing the I.D and the guard replied, " I can't help you, you're not allowed inside."

We looked at each other and I stabbed my knife in one guard's stomach and Green got the other one. One guard pressed the alarm button before I could do anything.

"Shit", yelled Mark and used one of the guard's fingerprints to open the door.

We ran in, I noticed a vial that fit the description we had been given, " Ok, here it is" I said.

CS-2028 was on the label. I grabbed it and started to run like hell, the others right behind me.

"Rooftop", yelled Mark and then took the lead.

We followed him, we reached a ladder and started climbing up. Right when I was close to getting out, someone grabbed my shoulder and slammed me to the ground, he had a red, covered with vines dagger and right before he struck me with it, Daniel leapt out at him and crashed him into the ground.

Daniel yelled, "Go, get out, I got this."

I looked down the hallway, more guards were coming, I climbed up the ladder and saw Mark being thrown aside by an assassin and Green lying on the ground knocked out.

The assassin said, "Oh look who it is. My match."

He leapt at me faster than my eyes could see and punched me in the face, I went flying and crashed into the ground. I screamed, the pain was overwhelming, I touched my face there was blood on my nose, actual blood. This could only mean one thing, this guy was half celestial. I took out my guns and fired at least a few hundred bullets. He dodged every single one of them and took my guns. He got so close to me, that I could feel his breath on my face, right in front of me he smirked and threw my guns away and punched me in the stomach. I crumpled with one hit, he walked away from me taunting me and I got up and took out my sword. He raised his hand and a sword flew to him, this was crazy, I was going to die. Then he charged at me and swung his sword, I clashed mine against his and kicked him in the stomach he flew back but landed on his feet. I may not be able to do the things he can but I knew how to fight. I charged at him and raised my fist to punch him, I felt that same power surging through me and I hit him. He went flying backwards and grew blue wings.

He smashed into the ground and said, "Okay, I guess it's time to get serious."

Green and Mark got up and Daniel came up. I looked at them all and they charged at me.

I looked back towards the forest and I ran. I heard gunshots and then I slammed to the ground, Mark had crashed into me, he lifted me up and threw me like a rag doll. I got up and tried to punch him, he hit me in the stomach and sent me flying. I crashed through 20 trees and looked ahead, he was walking towards me. I ran in the other direction as fast as I could until I saw a bunch of hunters...with a busted up car. I ran at the one with the keys and slammed his head in the ground. The other two shot at me but of course, it didn't matter. I grabbed his keys and got in the car and I drove away.
