Joshua panted, sweat beaded on his forehead, bending over with his palms on his knees. He could hear his new friends snicker and laugh, others trying to stifle any sound.

"Your first day to school as a senior here in Korea, and you're almost late on the bus," Someone says. Joshua looked to them, his brows furrowed. The male was smiling brightly at him, almost mocking him. His eyes were small, barely seen with how wide his smile was. His hair was bleached, likely still in the process of dying it a new color. The male wore the same uniform as Joshua wore, other than his tie was loose.

"I didn't plan on it," Joshua huffed with irritation. He stood straight, grabbing onto the metal pole his friends had their hands wrapped around.

"Come on, Soonyoung hyung," The youngest interjected, "Give him a break today. You did enough teasing to hyung yesterday," Chan was shorter than them and was entering into freshman year, thanks to his advanced learning course. He was talking about it all day since Joshua had met the kid. His hair was black and messy, meaning that he didn't take the time to comb his hair. It was clear that he was the youngest among them from height, appearance, and his voice being high-pitched.

"Thank you, Chan," Joshua smiled softly to the younger male, sending a glare to the named boy, Soonyoung, "I don't need you making jokes about me this early,"

Soonyoung shook his head, nudging Joshua. "I'm playing around, hyung. No hard feelings," His friend said, giving an apologetic smile, "But what happened this morning? You were happy yesterday, but now it's like someone bit you on the butt,"

"Ew," Chan gagged. Joshua let out a chuckle, shaking his head and patting Chan. "I did not want to hear that today,"

Soonyoung rolled his eyes playfully, continuing to talk to Joshua, "What happened?"

"Nothing to be honest," Joshua pulled the strap of his bag over his shoulder, fiddling with it, "I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and had some complications this morning,"

"Please, if anything, you probably ran in with your neighbor's kids and had a tussle," A male interjected. Turning to face the male, Joshua and the group brightened at the sight of him.

"Jeon Wonwoo!" Soonyoung called out. The male cringed, alarm settling into his eyes. He rushed forward and locked Soonyoung with his arm around his neck, squeezing him. "Yah! Don't go screaming my name around! We're using public transportation," Wonwoo scolded, "Strangers could literally-"

"Take it down a notch, Wonwoo-yah," Joshua said, helping the male to release their friend. Wonwoo had black hair that laid flat. He wore rounded glasses, gently pushing them up the bridge of his long, sharp nose. His eyes were sharp, narrowed at Soonyoung with irritation. Wonwoo was a lanky boy, his arms looking the longest on him.

"Anyways, am I right?" Wonwoo questioned, returning his attention to Joshua. Joshua paused for a second before laughing.

"A little,"

"Well, just don't let it affect today. First day back to school in a new state, new home, new everything!" Soonyoung grinned.

"Meaning," Wonwoo hissed, causing Soonyoung to shrink, "A fresh start,"

"Don't worry," Joshua said, patting Wonwoo's shoulder. "I'm not upset that I moved from LA to Seoul. I'm still in contact with my friends, and my family is here with me. That's all that matters to me," Joshua reassured, understanding why Wonwoo became sharp to Soonyoung.

Joshua had moved from L.A, California to Seoul, South Korea months prior. It wasn't because his family needed to move for work. Joshua learned that they were moving back so he could learn their Korean culture better. In America, his parents said, the Korean culture wasn't expressed to its fullest. It was better to take in the culture where it began. After long conversations when he returned from school and on the weekends, Joshua finally gave in. Not only did he say yes because his parents missed their birthplace, but he was genuinely curious about Korea and what he was missing out.
