-"Shhhhhhh"
-"Shut up"
-"You shut up- AH"
-"What, do you like that, your majesty?"
-"Very"
------------------------------------
In another part of the castle, Queen Angella was stationed at her bedroom window, unable to sleep, whenever her sister-in-law visited she was presented with some unique challenges. She thought about the possible interactions of the next few days, no doubt she would have to come up with another excuse about Castaspella's letters many of which still lay unopened at her desk, and she would once again have to explain that Glimmer could not be trusted away from the moonstone for more than a day or two- the toddler's inability to stop herself teleporting at random intervals leaving her drained and cranky so a trip to Mystacor was out of the question.
Her heart ached, "Glimmer"
the girl would grow up never knowing her father, the mural depicting his image would be the only form of connection she would ever have to the real thing.
Tears pricked Angella's eyes and without really noticing what she was doing, she left the window and turned down one of the many halls of the Brightmoon palace. She ran her fingers along the murals lining the walls, stopping in front of Castaspella's portrayal.
"ugh" she regrets seeing the mural now, it only reminds her of the next few days to come... possibly weeks if something political comes up again. carrying on with her walk, Angella couldn't shake the feeling that someone else was awake in the castle, the night guards obviously but the feeling that someone was up to something couldn't be shaken off as she rounded a corner towards her personal quarters.
--------------------------
A short stroll may have been just what the Queen needed as she felt the familiar sense of peace that comes with fatigue, causing her shoulders to slump and her eyelids weigh down. She was about to turn back to bed when she heard a faint whimper emanate from behind one of the doors lining the hallway followed by a short series of shushing and giggling. it was then that Angella realised that the guard that was supposed to be stationed outside the war room had seemingly vanished, leaving her alone to investigate the breach in security.
She crept along the wall, making sure to stay on her tiptoes avoiding the telltale sound of her heels against the polished marble, spreading her wings slightly to keep her balance. The offending door was carelessly left ajar giving Angella the perfect view of- something? someone? as her eyes adjusted to the darkness she lept back and squealed quickly covering her mouth with one gloved hand.
what in Etheria
of all things Angella had expected to see that night, the high sorceress of Mystacor, back pressed against the war table with the hand of Brightmoon's most esteemed general between her thighs was not one of them.
For a moment she stood, mind racing with what she was supposed to do in this situation. Technically neither of the guilty party was breaking any rule in particular; general Juliet was still at her station and Castaspella had no restrictions on where she was allowed to be at any time but the war room, seriously!? The Queen doubted whether either of them would notify the cleaners or have the room thoroughly disinfected and seriously why the room that was used most often and why on the table?
She opted to just leave and have the room cleaned later, no questions asked. At least that was what she was going to do.
Losing her balance and releasing an audible gasp stopped her plans completely and it stopped whatever was going on in that room.
"A-ANGIE!?"
"queen Angella!?"
Drat
the two women sprung apart, Castaspella letting out a small squeak as she fell off the table hitting the ground with a dull thud, both of their faces the colour of ripe tomatoes. Angella could only smirk as she saw the expressions on their faces, lipstick heavily smudged and in Casta's case, her crown askew.
she let out a small chuckle- "so? what's going on in here then? did you catch my dear sister-in-law trying to break into this highly important room?"
at the mention of the status of where they stood, Juliet looked down, face still heated and shook her head "Your majesty i-"
-"save it, now both of you" emphasis placed on 'both' as she saw Casta edging her way out of the room," I would like both of you to clean the mess you made" Angella gestured to the noticeably damp spot present on the large table, causing Castaspella to blush a painful shade of crimson striking contrast against her usually pale skin.
-"Angie I uh-"
-"Did I make myself clear Castaspella?"
-"Yes um-"
-"Now, I am going to bed and I suggest both of you do the same. If you want to continue whatever this is, please could you do it in one your personal quarters but do keep in mind I want you both up bright and early tomorrow to clean up"
-"Yes ma'am"
-"Okay Angie"
And with that Angella carried on with her night, making sure Glimmer had not been woken by the commotion and trying to ignore the snickers of the passing guards who had heard what had happened. As she passed the room Castaspella had taken up residency in, the Queen heard muffled laughter and -yes- they had most definitely chosen to continue.
