"Run."
The only thing I can think of right now. "Keep running. Don't stop or you will get caught." I turned and ran into an alley. I kept pushing myself to run faster and faster. If I slowed down any I was going to get caught. I could hear the sirens in the distance. I made one last turn and ran up to my house. I went to the side of the house and climbed the safety ladder I leave hanging from my window when I leave so I have an easy way back in. It's supposed to be in case of a fire, but I have other uses for it. I fling myself through the window and into my bed. I throw the covers over my body quickly as I hear someone knocking on our front door. I close my eyes and act like I'm asleep. I hear people arguing then my mothers footsteps coming up the stairs followed by a few others.
"See, I told you she was in bed asleep. Goodnight officers." She told them as she walked them to the front door. She walked back up the stairs and went back to her room to go to sleep.
"Another night of not getting caught." I thought to myself before I drifted off to sleep.
