It took nothing short of a small miracle to get all twenty eight interdimensional students from Erilea and Prythian together in the same room for a team meeting about the difficulties that they were facing from the staff and students of Hogwarts School. Therefore, nearly the first month of the school year had already passed by the time they had all gathered in the Room of Requirement. (Harry had given Rhys the location. Harry and his girlfriend Ginny were literally the only two students in the entirety of Gryffindor house that were being halfway decent to the strange newcomers. The rest of them were still being extremely rude.)
Rhys, Aedion, and Rowan were the first ones to arrive at the Room of Requirement for the meeting. Shortly after they arrived the others slowly began to trickle into the room. It took longer than they had expected, due to everyone having to come from common rooms all over the castle. Finally, after nearly an hour, everyone had finally arrived.
Once everyone was seated and comfortable, Rhys rose to his feet in order to get everyone's attention. "Okay," he said, clapping. "I think we all know why we're here—"
"Yeah," Varian called out from where he was sitting beside Amren. "The only reason we're here at all is because every single person here has been treating us like we're complete scumbags." He looked round at everyone before continuing defiantly. "I don't want to put up with their behaviour for any longer than I have to, but I don't like the idea of quitting!"
"It is like they think that they are vastly superior to us," Varian's sister Cresseida pointed out. "When really, we're the ones who are their superiors."
A murmur of assent rippled through the small and cosy room.
"What gets on my nerves," Eris cut in sharply. "Are all the insults and abuse that we've been copping from all of the regular pupils. Freaks, Aliens, Parasites, Pointy-ears, Overgrown Bats, Metal Monster Killers – Well you all already know. And they already vastly outnumber us. They know they've got safety in numbers and the backing of their professors."
"They're our professors now, too, you idiot," Dorian pointed out, just to be pedantic. Rhys and Eris both got on Dorian's nerves.
"Like I care what you think, jerk," Eris retorted angrily. What right does the boy think he has to interfere? Eris thought furiously. He's just a spineless human worm!
"That's enough, Eris," Amren said, quiet cold viciousness in her every syllable. "Cut out the horseshit. We need to work together. Now more than other before."
"Maybe Eris is right, though," said Nesta the shrew. "He just another human in a world full of humans."
"Have you forgotten so soon that the three of us were once human?" Feyre pointed out, looking sadly at her eldest sister. "That the three of us were entirely human with no Fae heritage whatsoever before we were Made?"
Despite the rift that separated the three of them she and Elain still missed their eldest sister dearly. Their life felt almost empty without her, incomplete. Feyre had singlehandedly looked out for both her elder sisters for so long, and had gotten absolutely no gratitude at all in return. Nesta's prolonged nastiness badly affected both Elain and Feyre.
"I will never forget," Nesta hissed at her, savagely, ferociously. "I will never ever be able to forget what Hybern put me through just because you asked Elain and I to help you. Don't suddenly start acting like you care what happens to me now. Like I have told you before, I have my life and you and Elain have yours. Don't act like you care now."
"But you don't have a life," Rhys said, looking at his sister-in-law with obvious distaste. "Pretend what you want, but you don't have a life. You aren't living. It will get you nowhere here. Just stop feeling sorry for yourself and stop treating your sisters like dirt. Both your sisters love you. I can't for the life of my see why, but they do. So stop treating them like the dirt beneath your feet."
