Neither of them liked to tell the story behind their body. Many things had happened over the years that they'd known each other; no matter how bad the break ups, no matter how aggressive the arguments, something as small as Estella killing another bunny of his, Pocket had remained the same gentleman that he always was, always stoic, courteous, never spoken unless spoken to. Estella may tease and poke fun, but at the end of the day, she really did appreciate him remaining by her side. Pocket always had remained that one steady, stable friend in a life full of chaos. After all, what was wonderland without it's Alice?
Pip and Pocket had always been patient with her. And now, with both of them gone, Estella hadn't a clue on what to do. She'd watched Pip leave for the states only weeks ago, having told him that Herbert would've been so, so proud of him. And she knew it was true, even if he may have been a crybaby over it.
But Herbert was gone. As was Pip.
The house was quiet. Empty. Sure it had been silent at times, but it was never like this.
Estella stood up from her bed, boots clicking against the floor as she walked across the room, through the door, through the hallway and towards the kitchen. The clanking of glasses bumping into each other was heard throughout the otherwise quiet household, disrupting the eerie silence as Estella took a cup out of the cupboard and set it down, staring into it for a moment, before flicking on the kettle and retrieving a tea bag.
Herbal.
Estella knew how much Pocket had always loved herbal tea, how much he'd often joke about it being in his name, and how blunt she would always be about it when he and Pip laughed together. She cherished those moments, she really did; Alas, they were long gone now.
Lost in thought, she hadn't heard the kettle go off, or even noticed the smoke off of the boiling water.
Pip had always sent letters. Many of which she had read of a specific classmate of his- what was his name, Danny? She shook her head, the dim light of the kettle catching her eye before she picked it up by the handle and carefully poured the water into the tea cup.
Damien.Pip had told her about how he claimed to be the Antichrist, and how he showed off his powers and abilities at school, though she had always assumed it to be lies, or jokes, or simply something, anything really, to deceive her. She'd never fallen for it, but in this moment of desperation, she really needed something to believe in. And besides, she wouldn't look like a fool. She was home alone,, As she had been for the last couple of weeks now.
She inhaled sharply through her teeth, before taking the risk.
" Damien. "
She looked around a little, as if expecting it to work. Once finding nothing new, she released her breath, nodding to herself in confirmation. Right,, as if it would work.
" Damien. "
She shook her head, stirring the tea with a small spoon. It didn't work the first time, why would she keep going? Curiosity, Perhaps? Why was she so persistent? Why couldn't she just leave well enough alone?
" Damien. "She rolled her shoulders back, eyes gazing off towards the roof as she subconsciously stirred the tea. It didn't work. It never would.
" He's not coming back, Estella. " She'd scold to herself, scoffing lightly. " How foolish of you to even attempt, "
She laughed quietly to herself, though the expression on her face remained the same, a small frown." Now, dear, why the long face? "
A husky voice rang from behind her ear, causing her to instinctively thrust her arm back and hit him in the gut." Feisty; " He managed to get out as he groaned in pain, coughing.
" Who are you? And why are you here? "
Estella narrowed her eyes at him as he tumbled back, neglecting his injury.
" I dunno, someone said 'Gay Beetlejuice' three times, what'dja expect? "
He rolled his eyes as that sarcastic tone just dripped through his deep voice, rolling his shoulders back in a shrug.
" You're really,, "
Estella curiously took a step closer, reaching a hand out and placing it on his chest to confirm that he was actually here.
" The one and only. "
Pride was unmistakable through his rich, yet sluggish accent as he raised an eyebrow at her.
Her words died in her throat as she heard this, raising her eyes to look at him, though kept her head low.
" There must be a reason that you want me here, right? Go on now, tell me. "
His voice wasn't as serious, not like Estella had expected, but instead, a deep one, one of your stereotypical stoner teen.
" My cousin, "
" You want me to bring a person back from the dead? "
Estella sighed, a guilty silence filling the air between her and the demon. The two simply looked into each others eyes for a while, before a nod came from the shorter blonde.
" Well then, that's easy, but there'll be conditions. "
" I don't care. Bring him back. "
" As you wish. "
Damien brung Estella into the living room, where they both sat and discussed the conditions for a little while. No soul selling, just a promise that when the day came that Damien needed something off of Estella, She'd come to his aid.
" Are you sure you want this? "
" More than anything. "
" Alright. "
Damien clicked his fingers, and,, nothing. Apart from the soft clicking noise, the room was completely silent.
" What are you doing? " Estella looking at him, tilting her head as he did his thing.
" What you wanted me to. Now, remember out promise? "
She gave a hesitant nod, before letting out a breath that she'd been holding for a while.
" What of it? "Damien sprung up from his seat, grinning like a child on Christmas day.
" Can we get ice cream?! "
Estella sighed and stood, brushing off the skirt of her dress as she ran a hand through her hair, her face scrunching in annoyance.
" I suppose so. Herbert will be here when we come back, won't he? "
" Yeah, yeah, let's go. "
