Today was the sports festival. After being pestered by her father and Shota to go Shika finally gave in. The thought of the crowd and meeting Shota's class made her legs feel weak. She could barely manage to order her own food, how was she supposed to talk to a whole class of people? And from what she heard they were all outstanding students. She tried to dismiss these thoughts and went down to eat breakfast.
"Morning papa."
"Morning Kami." She loved that nickname, it was the start of the phrase "kami no shisha" which meant divine messenger. It made her feel elegant and important.
"Are you excited to meet Eraserhead's students? I know the answer's probably no but i think it'll be good for you."
"Y-yeah I guess so. Besides that the crowd is one of the main things I'm really worried about. I hope I can manage all the noise and all the people."
"If it becomes too much Eraserhead said that you could go sit with him."
"Right, I'm gonna be fine. I'm not gonna freak out, and I'm not gonna run away from loud noises."
She said that to herself every time she went outside. The truth was that she was she was 100% sure one of those things were gonna happen. She was just hoping it wasn't the last one. She thought her quirk was actually pretty cool, but she hated the fact that she had the same demeanor as a deer. She was often very skittish and fearful when it came to loud noises.
"Okay kiddo you better go get dressed, you're gonna be late. And you wouldn't want to keep the prestigious class of 1-A waiting."
"Oh, sorry."
Shika ran upstairs and threw on a T-shirt she got from winning a art competition that she tucked it into a navy blue skirt that fell about mid-thigh. In a desperate effort to do something nice with her hair she ran a comb through it and put it in two low pigtails.

Her dad dropped her off at a side entrance and wished her good luck. Since Shota was still recovering he couldn't walk her to the classroom. Instead he drew her a shitty map of where to go.
"I should give him an art lesson." Shika mumbled to herself as she tried to figure out where the map was telling her to go.
"Shika Nakayama?" A voice called out to her. She jumped at the sound of her name coming from a stranger.
"Yes?"
"Oh there you are, Mr. Aizawa told me to escort you to my class. My name is Tenya Iida." The boy said as he held out a stiff arm out to her. She didn't really know what to do so she grabbed his hand and just held it. His face went red and he slowly pulled his hand out of her grasp.
"Sorry, I'm not very good at meeting new people."
"There is no need to worry Nakayama. We should start to head to the class."
"Oh of course."
He led her closer and closer to the huge crowd of people waiting to get into the stadium. Her ears twitched at the sound of all of the people. She could clearly hear little bits of people's conversations as they walked. Iida noticed her ears rapidly twitching and her nervous expression.
"This may be a little bit of a strange offer but I can get us there faster. You just have to let me carry you and I'll use my quirk." She basically hopped into his arms as soon as she heard that she could get away from the crowd faster. She hated strangers touching her but she hated crowds even more. Iida held her wedding style and she wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his shoulder.
"We're here." He put her down and led her into a class with a huge door.
"Thank you Iida. Everyone this is Shika Nakayama, she'll be watching the sports festival with your class today. Please be kind and patient." Shota nugged her shoulder, bringing her back down to earth.
"Oh, hello. If you are okay with it I would like to be called Kami, I-I think saying my real name is too formal. And-" she was cut off by the sound of someone whispering. She didn't dare to look up to see who was talking about her.
"Oi Kiri isn't she kinda cute."
Shota noticed Shika's ears twitching and looked up to see Denki talking to Kirishima.
"Kaminari interrupting is rude."
"Sorry."
"Carry on Kami"
"Oh um and I guess I'm excited to watch the festival."
"Ok everyone is dismissed to go change into their training uniforms. I will not see you guys till the end of the day so behave yourselves."
"Yes sir!" The class shouted in unison. Since it was so sudden and so loud it caused Shika to fall back. She looked up to see Iida holding a stiff arm out at her. She grabbed it and he effortlessly pulled her up.
"T-thanks Iida."

Something about Shika stood out to Iida. Sure he had had a couple crushes in primary school but ever since intermediate school he had started to get more serious about his academics and he really didn't have time for girls. But something about Shika was distracting. What was it? Her hair? Her demeanor? Her height? Her personality? Or was it all of her?
"Oi Kirishima did you see that girl, she's so cute. Do you think I have a chance?"
"Nope, but I think I might. Do you know what school she goes to? Maybe we can find her instagram. What's her name again?"
Iida never really minded when the boys would talk like this but for some reason hearing them talk about Shika irritated him.

"How was that? Not too bad right?"
"Yeah I guess. But I heard someone whisper about how I'm "cute", in what way do you think they meant?"
"You'll figure it out sooner or later Kami."
"Why won't you tell me, if I ask someone in your class they'll think I'm a total weirdo. I've already embarrassed myself enough."
"I'm not telling you because it a part of growing up. Now this is were you'll be sitting, you're gonna be alone for now but soon enough some of my students will come join you. And don't forget that the directions to where I'll be is written on your arm."
"Thank you, do you need help going up the stairs?"
"I should be okay, now just sit here and try to relax."
Despite being wrapped in bandages Shota was still worrying about Shika's wellbeing. He planned on secretly sneaking down and checking on her throughout the day. Although he didn't know what it felt like to have children he cared for Shika as if she was his daughter. He hoped that she could make some friends so when she transferred to U.A. she could feel a little more comfortable. He knew she probably knew something was up, but he also knew she would ever guess that she would be coming to U.A. After Shota found out that there's a possibility that she could produce a "protective being" he knew that she couldn't be homeschooled anymore. He talked to her father about it and he agreed that she needed to learn more about what she could do. Shota knew she had lots of potential, her mother was one of the top 5 hero's at one point.

Quite a bit of time had passed and the second challenge had started. Everyone from class 1-A made it through the first challenge which meant nobody was gonna join Shika yet. Since she had been so secluded nothing but the crowds cheering had really bothered her. She leaned over the balcony to try and get a better look at Shota's students. She found herself looking for a certain navy haired boy. The thought of him talking to her again made her feel nervous, but in a good way. "How can I be nervous in a good way? How is that even possible, I usually hate being nervous."
"Ooo sounds like you have a crush." Shika turned around to see a girl with long lavender hair standing in the pathway.
"W-what no."
"So who is it? Is it the boy with the half and half quirk, or maybe the sort one with green hair, please tell me it's not the hotheaded blonde."
"N-no, who are you?"
"Oh sorry, my name is Nejire Hado. But you can call me Nejire-Chan."
"N-nice to meet you."
"You know you remind me of my friend. Wait, you have antlers that's so cool! I thought doe's usually don't have antlers."
"Yeah, I guess I'm special." Nejire reached over and pinched Shika's antlers. Then she grabbed her shoulders and spun her around. "You have a cute little tail too, I almost didn't see it. Does it wag when you're excited. Oh wait that's dogs, never mind."
*Ahem* "I think I got it from here Hado, thank you."
"No problem." Nejire gave Shika and Shota a big smile before walking away.
"Was she too much? I was gonna send Amajiki but I really think you two are too similar."
"Oh no she was okay."
"Are you doing okay? I know the crowd can be kinda loud."
"I'm fine. You have to stop worrying so much, you'll tarnish your reputation of being a hardass."
"Hey! No swearing, and I'm not a hardass I just like to push them."
"Sure, why are you down here anyway? You really shouldn't be going up and down the stairs this much."
"I know, I just wanted to check on you."
"Let me help you up the stairs, I wanna see where to go if I freak out."
"Fine, but I don't think you're gonna be much help to me."
"Hey! I wrangle dogs and cats all day and you still think that I have no strength. I have to walk that Great Dane twice a day."
"Okay, but don't hurt yourself trying to help me."
Shika rolled her eyes and followed the aching man to a set of stairs.

Even though the cavalry battle had started Shika was still messing around with Shota and Present Mic in the commentators room. She had distracted them from doing their jobs multiple times since the battle started. She liked the view from the room so she decided to stay there a little longer. She was leaning over the table in front of the glass so she could get a better view of Iida's team.
"So are you still watching Tenya Iida?"
"What!? No, what would make you think that?"
"No reason."
She gave an adorable angry look at Shota and turned back around. The truth was that she was looking at Iida but she would never admit it. She wondered if this how people felt in those stupid romance movies. They always mentioned that their "crush" stood out to them. She started to question what she was feeling when a loud boom echoed throughout the stadium. Shika jumped and ran right into a wall.
"Kami! Are you okay!" Shota yelled out as he rushed to her aid.
"Y-yeah I'm fine, I just got startled. I think I'm gonna go get some water."
"Ok let's go."
"No, stay here. I'll be fine."
"Okay."
Shika walked back down to the seating area and looked around for her water bottle. "Shit I must've left it in the classroom." She decided to try and find some kind of water fountain. She wandered around the dim halls until everything started to look the same. "Ugh this hurts my brain." She plopped down on the ground and leaned her back against a wall. "That's it I'm gonna die in here. I'm never gonna find a way out and I'm gonna starve in here."
"That sounds like a terrible demise."
