She was always used to having what she wanted within her grasps. Every buyable thing was hers. She was happy. She wasn't delusional. She didn't have a single want. She had great friends, but her best friend was Andi. She has known Andi for a year or two? Frankly, it didn't matter, and she couldn't remember. They mostly had a platonic relationship with him. One time they went to a dance and he tried to kiss her. The awkwardness of that exchange led to a weak of silence between the two of them, but (as you can tell) everything is back to normal. While Mary was happy, she was considerably less happy than normal. Since they have been in college they have seen less and less of one another. They still are each other's #1, but she felt as though this position wasn't as solidified as it was in high school. She felt conflicted, she was happy. Dread, fear, and anxiety were absent from her life. She started to realize that this lack of unpleasant emotions didn't make up for the lapse in happiness via comparison. She thought about it and came to the conclusion that she was overanalyzing.
