Krist's P.O.V

Growing up, I always believed in a saying that, 'Everything happens for a reason.' That's why when our parents died, I always say to my little sister that our parents are the most beautiful flowers, and when someone sees beautiful flowers, automatically, those are the ones that they'll pick in a garden full of it.

Our parents died because of a shipwreck. They were on a cruise celebrating their anniversary when a huge wave suddenly crashed onto the yacht, most people survived but unluckily, our parents drowned. I'm already 18 years old that time and my little sister, Namtan was only 7. Since then, I've worked my ass off for us to eat and for my sister to go to school. I only want the best for her, I don't care if I'll die because of working too hard. I want to give her the life that she deserves. Luckily, our Aunt, who decides to live a single blessedness life is nice enough to keep us in her home.

"Hey, Kit. You're zoning out again!" Gun Atthaphan, my co-worker snapped his fingers infront of my face. I blinked multiple times and continued washing the dishes. I'm working at a café downtown, a hundred meters away from our home.

"Why did you zone out again? Is there something bothering you?" Gun asked as he placed the remaining bottles of newly delivered milk inside the fridge.

"Nah, I'm just reminiscing the past. You know, when my parents are still here and we don't have to worry about what will we eat." I said, my voice laced with sadness. I arranged the freshly washed plates and mugs on the counter and wiped the counter with a dry cloth. I felt a someone hug me from behind and I immediately smiled when I knew who it is.

"Don't hurt yourself more, Kit!" New said and hugged me tighter. I also felt another pair of arms hug the left side of my body.

"We're always here for you, you know that right?" Gun said. I'm squished by their hugs and as seconds pass by, it's getting hard for me to breathe. I tapped both of their arms multiple times before they released their tight hug. I faced them both with a warm smile stretched on my lips.

"I know that. Thank you for always being by my side and never thought of leaving me for these past years. I owe you two more than my life." I sincerely said while looking at the both of them. New and Gun both looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

"Newwie, do we always have to hear this from him?" Gun asked, waiting for New to answer him.

"I don't know, Gun. He's always like this, I'm getting tired of his gratefulness already." New said with a sigh, his face suddenly looked so problematic. I stifled a laugh and shooked my head. They're always like this whenever I say my thank you's to them. Gun and New just looked at me with a wide grin.

"I just want you guys to know that I'm very thankful for having the two of you in my life. I may never have parents anymore but I have two bestfriends that are always beside me through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, from being unemployed to getting jobs." I said. They both laughed at what I said. They both engulfed me in another hug. The hug lasted for like 10 seconds before they broke it.

"We know, Krist. We know that you're thankful but you don't need to say that everytime. That's what bestfriends do, right?" New said while fixing his apron.

"And Kit, please. New's the one who's gonna go from employed to unemployed if he keeps the customer infront waiting." Gun said and gestured the customer waiting at the counter. I laughed and nodded my head. New suddenly became the flash and in a lightning speed, he's infront of the customer with a big smile on his face.

Gun and I just high fived because of our other bestfriend's silliness and proceeded to do our jobs. Gun Atthaphan and New Thitipoom are my rock solid bestfriends. We became bestfriends even before my parents passed away, they're always there for me, they know me so well like I'm an open book for them. They are beside me when I bawled my eyes out hearing the news about my parents, they mourned with me, they became my diaries, basically they became my siblings. Not by blood but by mind and heart.
