"Robert." I said coolly. I started to walk away.
"Leaving so soon?" he said, in his usual oily manner. He gripped my hand. Aiden sensed I was uncomfortable with that.
"Get your hand off of her." he growled.
"Aw, Rose. Got men to defend you?" he asked.
"Not quite!" I shouted. I pulled out my switchblade.
"Don't come near me, ROBERT HAINES." I shouted.
"Aww. Pity. Were were just. getting. STARTED." he shouted and he hurled himself at me. But he had taken me for granted. I had been trained in self-defense. I gripped his arms and then I hurled him over the bridge into the water. Then I started to cry.
"Are you alright, Rose? Who was that man?" asked Aiden. He put his arm around me, as if protectively. That simple gesture thanked me. I cried into his suit. But instead of looking disgusted, he just looked peaceful, as if he did this everyday.
"You have been through an ordeal." he said. He beckoned me to his car. It was a beautiful black BMW. Still too dazed, I slumped inside it. The plush leather seats were very comfortable.
