Frost Fair

Grelle never liked winter. She used to love it as a human for a while, but it usually brought certain painful memories up. Now as a reaper, deaths would climb up during this time of year.

She was meeting up with Adrian, who became an undertaker for some reason she had yet to know.

"Hello Adrian. It's been a while since the last fair hasn't it?" she greeted him in her fine red winter fur coat.

"Ah, Sutcliff. It has been a while, yes. Though I can guess you're here because of recent happenings, am I right?"

"Yes. I also thought you would like to know. The fallen 'Angel of Massacre' is on the move. From what we found, they're somewhere in London. They'll be a storm brewing before we know it."

".....I see. That is troublesome.....I can also tell you heard what happened this morning."

"Heard? I saw the poor man. A man named Tim, although it turns out he was also found with deep cuts on his body that is impossible to get in the river."

Then a man fell into the shop in surprise, and after a while Adrian was laughing like a lunatic from how he landed in the shop. Grelle even giggled a bit.

"Cuts?" A familiar voice said behind her. Phantomhive.

"I see you came to see the scene as well." Oh, and Sebastian too.

"What do you mean by cuts?" Phantomhive asked.

"...Well, he was found with serious cuts on his person, all in lethal areas. To be honest, we don't know if he bled or froze to death first. It could be a tie." Grell said as she was getting the still giggling man to a seat.

"That's right. You see Undertaker, we are just as baffled. And that's not all. He was part of a criminal group after a priceless ring containing a certain blue diamond." The inspector said.

"Diamond? That wouldn't happen to be the Hope Diamond wouldn't it?" Grell asked.

"How do you know of the diamond ma'am?" Abberline asked.

"I had some friends working at the place where it was supposed to be moved to when it was stolen. Am I right?"

"Unfortunately yes. From what we could guess, it's somewhere among the fair now."

"You boys are too blind to see it under your noses, are you? Have you had the chance to see the snow statue of her majesty herself? I suggest going there." Grelle suggested with a smile.

And sure enough, the ring was on one of the fingers of the statue.

Grelle laughed herself when Abberline made a good impression of the Scream seeing it.

"Adrian's right. If the inspector business tanks on you, you've got a good career as a comedian." Though she had a feeling there would be a catch. Apparently, it was going to be a prize in a contest. And sure enough, Ciel was having Sebastian enter the contest.

As Sebastian entered the competition, Grelle stood by Adrian as she looked at her ring.

"You know Adrian. The color of a stone never determines if it's unfortunate or not. Sometimes it's the deal made with it."

"Ah yes. Yours is such a ring. All those of a distant relatives' line met tragic fates, and as a result, you're the last of your ancestors, even in death. But of course you only used the ring once for a good cause. The others did it out of desire and longing. You were the only one to move on."

"...Because that's what they would've wanted. But it seems the Hallows won't let me go." Grell stated as she looked at the crooked Irishmen entering the completion as well.

And it looked like Sebastian was going to win when the Irishmen decided to shoot people in public.

'*sigh* Might as well.' she thought as she got some skates on and decided to help Sebastian.

"Why Miss Sutcliff, I didn't know you were an expert in ice skating."

"Oh hush up and let's take care of those mongrels." She said right as Sebastian took her hand, and they both spun 4 times in the air, and Sebastian then was behind Grelle holding to her arms, like she was a princess or an angel.

"Amazing! They both spun 4 times in the air! And with an incredible landing at that!"

"Two noble swans flying in a world of silvery white snow! The black drake dances with his destined red mate in a sweet serenade as she accepts the embrace of his midnight wings."

'Really you git?!' Grelle involuntarily thought with a shiver. But it got a perfect score.

Then Grelle got Ciel out of harm's way when he was going to be blown with dynamite.

And she got him to Sebastian's sculpture of the Ark.

"Was all of that really necessary?" Grelle asked Sebastian.

"Well, we did have an audience didn't we?" He asked back.

"The Hope Diamond will now sleep safely at the bottom of the Thames." Ciel said. "An ideal end to it's curse."

"Won't it curse all of London now?" Sebastian asked.

"Doubt it. If a ring had the ability to destroy a whole city, it probably won't survive either." Grelle said.

"Well, either way, the other gang members have been caught. So, one part of the job is done." She continued as she leapt and landed on the bridge. "Now if you don't mind, I need to report to headquarters of this. There weren't as many deaths this time, which means no overtime. Least William will be happy about that."

Ciel kept a blank look on his face while Sebastian gained another smirk.
