A dark, evil being lurked in the shadows, lying in wait for one of life's most precious gifts- an opportunity. Something that should be taken advantage of. Something that he had lost long ago, on the day that he had been killed.

Beaten. Destroyed. Overpowered. Vanquished.

The day he had lost.

The being was waiting, seeking for the perfect moment. The moment he could take it all back. His power. His reign. His rule over Ninjago.

The victory that had been rightfully his. The victory that had been stolen from him.

It had taken him completely by surprise. The day he had died. He hadn't expected it at all- of course, that had been his downfall. Overconfidence. He hadn't stopped to remember that the ninja- curse their souls -would never quit, even at the cost of their own lives. But he wouldn't make that mistake again. It could mean life and death to him.

Now he was waiting on the outskirts of Ninjago City. Even as a ghost, he had managed to remain more powerful than ever before and was ready to wipe out anyone who got in the way of his plans. His only downfall? He was vulnerable to water because he was a ghost. But every good villain knew how to turn his weak point into his strong point, and that was exactly what he had done. He had learned how to control his new ghost ability so that he could become invisible. Soon, Ninjago City would be at the mercy of a villain that was concealed from sight.

But he had to prioritize. He didn't need to conquer anyone yet. He only needed to make his presence known. To teach the ninja that they should have quit while they were ahead. And of course, at the same time, he could feed the ambition that burned through him like a raging fire. He could finally give himself the one thing he wanted-

Vengeance.

Vengeance on the one who had killed him.

The Overlord started towards the city. The time was now.
