Bill hasn't said much since we got here. He keeps glaring at Jess. Is he jealous? That would be really cute but problematic. And I doesn't make sense. Me and Jess are just friends and that is that.And also me and Bill aren't together it's .... Pretend. Plus if Jess liked me than Celeste would be heart broken. It's no secret she's crazy about him. Even be knows he never acted on it and it's a mystery how he feels. I'll admit that he was my first kiss. But that was in second grade underneath the slide. So I don't think I it counts. "Shit Anchor it really does count." Bill said smirking. It was amazing that he wasn't flipping out. "I'm only not flipping out cause you don't even return the feelings." He whispers in my ear his touch makes me shiver. He smirks.

"We should go some where and do something. " Celeste interrupts. Bill sighs, I think, and Jess agrees. " we should go to a party. " I finally decide. "Yeah sounds good." Jess says instantly and Bill rolls his eye. "Time to consult instagram!" Celeste says flipping out her phone. Celeste is the most introverted person I know but some how no matter what she can get you places. If there is a party worth attending she'll find it. "There's a party at Fortune Trendscotts place. She says looking up after a minute. I get a little excited. Fortune and I were good friends and I had a crush on him until last year when I confessed. He sister zoned me big time but we are still good friends. "Now that might make me flip out a bit." Bill says. " what are you talking about? " Jess says eye ballin Bill. These guys are like girls. Silently hating each other. Why? I have no idea. (Hint at the sarcasm.)

We arrive at my car a he The boys fight over the frontseat. "I should get it I'm her boyfriend" Bill says smirking. I scoff. We're Pretending! I remind him via thoughts. She sighs but ignores me."Well I've known her longer." Jess shoots back. Bill has an amused look on his face and I in a what's coming. " how about Celeste sits up front! Yup here we go guys you to sit Apart. "I say with a chuckle and a growl. Bill smiles that big smile of his and scoops me up bridal style and showers me in kisses. "Bill stop!" I squeal swatting him away. He has a midmorning stubble. I look into his golden eye.

"Ahem." Celeste interrupts giggling. Bill puts me down with one more kiss. Jess is staring daggers and is red in the face. Me and Celeste get in and Bill and Jess get in. Bill seems to have been victorious. But Jess. Jess did get pretty upset! Maybe there is something that that I didn't see. "Don't worry about it Baby Girl." Bill says from behind me. I remind him were not really dating again and he just stays silent. But I swear I heard a "That's what you think."So he won the quiet argument over the seat behind me. This outta be good.

When we pull up to Fortunes place it's packed people all over pouring out of cars and trucks. The school band is playing some country song about It Its meant to be it'll be baby just let it be. I somehow got separated from my friends and Bill so I search for somebody anybody who I at least know the name of. Then strong arms whisk me up and twirl me around. "Hello little fish." He says. " Fortune! " I squeal as wrap my arms around him. 

Then a commotion distracts me. A red light is coming from the center of the crowd. "Oh no!" I gasp. " what is tha... Woah woah! " Fortune is floating upward in a red haze. Then rises the triangle. He looks different. His voice is deeper and scarier and all the black is now white. The yellow replaced by a blood red. "Touch her again I DARE you! "Bill calm down!" I shout to him. He rounds on me his eye burning with anger then he sees its me and all at once he changes back to human form. "Sorry babe lost my head there." He chuckles nervously and rubs the back of his neck.

 Alot of people are recording on there phones. " so much for Marcus. " I mumble. Then Fortune approaches. Bill turns on his heel and walks up to him. I prepare myself to stop him but something in my gut says to let it be. Or maybe it's the song from earlier. Bill stands there looking into Fortunes mind. Only I of course know this so to every one else it looks like Bill is staring him down. Finally after what feel like a year. Bill smiles and then gives him a hug. I laugh. All Bill found was that sibling like love. I go over and Fortune looks at me expectantly. I begin to explain but Bill snaps his fingers.

As I guessed Bill is keeping to his self a leaning against the wall wallflower style. He sees me smiles and straightens up. "There you are." He says with a wink. "Fortune meet B...Marcus my new boyfriend." I say gesturing to the grinning Bill. "Nice to meet you." He says offering his hand. "I believe we've already met." Bill says shaking his hand. Fortune shoots me a "What the hell is he talking about" look and I shrug. "So how'd you meet little fish. " Fortune says attempting a conversation .

"Quite by accident actually, see I was at fal-mart looking for milk when a little lady couldn't reach the jalapeno poppers. So naturally her if the gentlemen I am I helped her and we talked for a while and I remember her being all smiling and giggly so I knew she had a crush on me. So I registered that she was a cute collected high school junior and that I would never see her again but Daveston is a small town and as fate would have it we can into each other at the cafe on Richard Street. I asked her if she'd like lunch and she agreed. Then we just kinda grew on each other" He finishes  y say right smiling and giggly me? "Yeah grew on each other like toe fungi. "I said to which Bill snorts Fortune chuckles and I grin.

"Well little fish you got yourself a keeper but it he breaks your heart you know who to call." Fortune says winking. Bill smiles that half smile that makes me melt. I don't need to be a mind reader to figure out what he's thinking
