Prologue

Jamie's P.O.V

Not everything in this world has light at the end of the tunnel. At least not in my story. I was born with a dark power that controls anyone from the inside, turning the heart as black as night. I'm half demon as you could say. My human side is just plain cruel. No good inside whatsoever. And my demon side....I can't control.

A way you could describe the feeling is paralyzed. I can't feel anything. I don't know how to feel anything. I don't know if I ever will. Nothing seems to help.

I was in my father's base when he called me.

"Jamie" yelled father.

I came walking in, head down, eyes to the ground. "Yes dad?" I asked

"I see you've been practicing your dark magic." He said with a proud time in his voice.

"Yes father, I have. A-am I getting better?"

"Yes, Jamie. That's why I have a little task for you." He says with evil in his eyes.

This is usually where he asks me to do something bad. My older brother, Jade, always did what my father asked with ease. His heart was born black. My heart on the other hand, was born good. That's why I'm half human. I don't know why.

My brother then comes walking in, eating an apple. "What's the task for the princes of darkness now?" He laughs, spitting pieces of the apple he was eating out.

"I was just getting to that, my son. Can you handle whatever task I give you?" He asks me. I hesitate to say something. "Father, I don't think she's ready." He says with a little bit of concern.

"Nonsense. She's ready...right Jamie?"

I look up with a fierce look in my eyes. "I'm ready father. What to I have to do?" I ask.

He smiles an evil smile. "Kill the Avengers!"
