Zai's new life with her mother was...different. Weiss wasn't there to try and stab her, and Jacques' screaming was non-existent. Now that she didn't carry the burden of the Schnee name, she felt much lighter.
'What is this feeling?'
She stared at their new house.

Willow had to work a new job and started a new company. She legally changed her last name from Schnee to Faye. So they were now Willow and Zai Faye, of the Faye Dust Corporation.
They didn't make any profitable deals concerning the SDC, for obvious reasons, and instead work on making employees more diverse and welcomed in their company. This meant Faunus and Humans got along with one another.
Probably.
Zai's wounds have healed, but left scars around her body. She didn't wear the fanciest of clothes back at the Schnee Mansion. Now that she lived here, she had a clean bed, a proper bathroom, some nice clothes, and ate more food than she ever did in Atlas.
The only downside was that she was lonely. Her mother had to work at the company, but she always made enough time for the two of them. Zai loved those moments. She also had trouble sleeping at night in her room. She would have nightmares of her former step-sister finishing the job of killing her.
When that happened, she would ask her mother if she could sleep with her, which she happily agreed.
She wished she wasn't lonely. She didn't have much, but this was nice. It would be nicer if she could share this with someone.
Two Weeks later
"I'm home dear!"
Zai walked down the stairs of her room and saw her mother with someone new.
It was another wolf Faunus, a boy. He He looked to be around her age, maybe younger. He had the same colored eyes as she did. His hair was a deeper blue, coming down to his neck. His ears were red, and his tail was the same color as his hair. He wore a deep red shirt with blue sleeves and wore ripped jeans. His shoes were also blue. She also noticed that one of his ears was cut like hers. This brought some silent concerns to Zai.
"Mother? Who is this?" Zai asked.
Willow smiled with a glint of hope in her eyes.
"This is your new younger brother." She said.
Zai's eyes shot up in suprise. Zai looked at the wolf boy, who seemed to be nervous as his ears switched a couple times.
"I know I've been gone a lot and you were feeling lonely." Willow's smile fell a little. "That is why I decided to adopt another child. I hope you welcome him with open arms." She said.
