Bells jingled as I pushed open the door to the café, the smell of coffee greeting me. I gladly welcomed it, and waited in the line that was formed in the small shop. It was a nice place, the café, as it was quaint and cozy. I often found myself here, as I escaped my stuffy home.
As I advanced towards the register, I smiled at the familiar boy taking orders. His hair was a tad bit messy, with the tips an aqua blue. The strands of hair swished as he quickly moved around, ripping the sheets of paper from his notepad to hang up for the other few workers to make.
Pulling out my credit card, I stepped in front of him. He was facing down, pen firmly in grip, ready for me to place an order.
"Hello Luka, can I get a caramel macchiato along with some madeleine scones."
Luka's blue eyes lifted, meeting mine. A soft smile graced his face, along with a faint red that brushed his cheeks. He greeted me as he quickly scribbled down the items.
"Hey y/n, is that all?" I shook my head as I ordered a vanilla frappe. He wrote it down, his eyebrow arching at the drink.
"Is that for another person?"
"Yep, a friend of mine wanted to meet up!," I was pretty happy to meet up with her, due to the fact I had been alone this whole month, giving time to myself. I hadn't talked to anyone as I tried to come to terms with what had happened. Not wanting my feelings to cloud my mind, I had kept away from the people who weren't living under the roof of my home.
"Oh...alright! Is that all?" I nodded and he quickly went on his way to hang up the small sheet of paper. As he came back, I handed him my card to which he charged my food with. Handing it back, he sent me off with a wave.
I walked off and sat by a table that was placed beside the window, showing the busy streets of Paris. People were bustling around, some heading into shops and others disappearing away from view. I sat there, admiring the view of the world around me.
I spent most of my time at home, my parents sheltering me as they worried for the only female heir of the family. I had three other brothers, all older than me by a few years. We were all born a year later than the other, and it was helpful to have them around. Only one of my brothers was in college, and I did miss him a tad bit.
Luka appeared, beverages and scones in hand. He grabbed the drinks carefully off the metal tray, placing them before me. I went and grabbed the hot caramel macchiato, and he gently set down the plate of scones.
"Are you going to come to the Kitty Section practice?" He questioned, sitting on the chair that was across from me. I peered down at the coffee cup, the smell of it comforting me.
"Should I?" I was a bit nervous at the idea of attending, because of Agreste who was a part of the band. Although we were on okay terms, I still was hesitant of being around his presence, knowing that it hurt me quite a bit, although I was sure to never show it.
"You should... I missed- no, we missed you!" He awkwardly laughed as he peered up at me, pieces of his hair falling in front of his face," Please come?"
I pondered over it for a while, wondering if I should attend. It would be nice to see others but was it worth having to face him? I had purposely avoided him whenever I could. The only time I had seen him was during the scheduled piano lessons we had together.
I decided that I would not let what happened prevent me from supporting Kitty Section anymore than it already had.
I nodded and he cheered. I couldn't help but laugh a bit as he had started doing a small dance in the chair, wriggling around.
The moment was cut short though, as someone coughed. We directed our attention to the blonde who was staring at Luka with her sharp blue eyes, her usual ocean eyes turning into cold glaciers. Luka rose up, grabbing the tray from the table.
"Did you need something?" His voice was calm but if you took notice of how he held onto the tray, you would see that he was anything but calm.
"Yeah, I need you to move!" The blonde replied as she pushed past Luka, sitting where he had previously sat. I let out a sigh, already accustomed to the front she used with other people.
"Sorry Luka, Chloe isn't used to playing nice," I laughed as Chloe only let out a huff, not wanting to acknowledge him any longer. Luka only nodded, his eyes flicking between us two, eyes filling with confusion. But he went away as his coworkers called him, leaving us to ourselves.
I finally took a sip of my coffee, which was still hot. Chloe then began to question me about my sudden disappearance from social media, and I finally told her what happened between Adrien and I. She gasped, her calm ocean like eyes raging at the news. She softly held my hand, and I was appreciative of it.
As we finally drifted off the topic, she and I decided to talk about Paris's heroes.
