I walked home and went up to my room. I said to myself, "No more rejection, I'm done." I haven't asked out girl since.
I never saw Bell again after that, I guess she moved away. But who cares? She didn't like me like the rest of them.
Flash forward four years and here we are, in my Dad's car, going to some "surprise".
"Son, I think you'll like this one a lot."
He pulls into the parking lot of a big building with a faded out sign on it. There's words on the sign, but its night out and I can't read it.
"Is this it?" I said.
"It might not look like much but just wait."
He turns off the car and get out. I get out too and follow him."Now Jake, this surprise is between me and you. Your Mother can't know about this, okay?"
"Sure thing Dad."
We get to the door and my Dad stops. He turns to look at me and says, "Jake, you've become a man now and I want you to know that I'm proud of you for being a good kid all these years. This is the reward you get for being so good all this time." He opens the door and its a hallway leading to a room. He walks in and I follow.
"What the hell is this place?"
I continue to follow and I started to hear dance music, sexy dance music. I go faster to keep up with my Dad, he's handing money to some guy. They shake hands and my Dad gestures me into a room.
"Good luck Jake!"
He leaves and shuts the door behind him.
