"Eshe get back here!" Charlotte yelled while giggling along with her friend. "Gotta catch me first!" she yelled back before running faster. Charlotte sighed and shook her head as she started chasing her speedily.
Looking back, Eshe screamed as she realized how close she was to getting tagged. Smirking, Charlotte raced to her and tackled her to the wooden bedroom floor. "Not fair!" Eshe giggled while trying to fight back. "I won! I won!" Charlotte taunted her while laying on top of her.
"Kids! Dinner's Ready!" Charlotte's mom yelled from downstairs. "Coming!" the kids yelled in sync as they quickly ran down the stairs, remembering they were having their favorite dinner tonight, mac and cheese.
Charlotte and Eshe ran and sat down at the kitchen table and were practically bouncing in their seats. Dolly, Charlotte's mom, set down their plates in front of them as well as two cups of water. "Make sure not to spill anything, and Eshe your dad is coming to pick you up in an hour." "Thank you Ms. Mills!" Eshe shouted while stuffing her face with craft mac and cheese. Dolly laughed and said you're welcome before leaving the room to watch some T.V.
Around an hour later, there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it!" Eshe said before reaching up to the door handle. "Daddy!" she said before jumping into her dad's arms. "Hey kiddo," he laughed before seeing Charlotte's mother enter the room. "Thank you for letting her over, she really enjoys your company." Mr. Berry said to Ms. Mills. "Don't mention it! Charlotte loves having her over for play dates," Dolly said while ruffling her daughter's hair. "Well, we have to get going, see you later!" "Take care!" Ms. Mills said before closing the door behind them.
The two young girls were inseparable and filled with joy, but it would only be a few more years until their big day would arrive.
