'GUYS! BREAKFAST IS READY!' I yelled up the stairs to my best friends, Kayla and Samantha.

Two minutes later Samantha came strutting down the stairs with a man in a fancy suit trailing behind her, his eyes not leaving her bum.

It took me a moment to realise I was jealous of the lustful looks he was giving my best friend, after a horrible break-up and two years of being single I was willing to settle for lust and not love any day.

'And who was that?' I asked with my eyebrows raised once Sam's mystery man had departed.

'That my dear Delilah was James, he's an investment banker' she bragged, taking a sip of the coffee I had made her.

'Good for you Sammy. Any signs of life from Kayla's room?' I asked, biting my lip.

'No, but at least she's stopped sobbing' Sam sighed, creasing her forehead.

Kayla had just been through a really bad break-up, her boyfriend Harry or Stupid McBoger-Head as we had come to call him, had cheated on her with high school enemy, Rose, and then let her find out through a spiteful status Rose had written about it. We had been trying to help her through it but there was only so much you could do when your best friends heart is broken.

'Help me take the breakfast things, we'll eat with Kayla' I commanded, taking the tea and plates of toast, placing them on a tray, leaving Sam to take the orange juice and Jam.

After struggling up the stairs and skilfully avoiding Sam's discarded underwear and make up we made it to Kayla's room, I knocked gingerly gaining a small grunt which I took to mean as a please come in.

The place looked like crap, but it was nothing compared to Kayla, her eyes puffy, hair greasy and tangled, a definite stench coming from her unwashed clothes that made my nose crinkle.

'Hey sweetie, we brought breakfast!' I half sang, plonking myself on Kayla's bed as she sat up, smiling weakly.

'Thanks' she mumbled, taking a plate of toast and nibbling at the edges.

'Right. Enough is enough, we're going out tonight because I miss my girls and I've had enough of the moping and eating ice cream whilst watching shit romance films and talking about our feelings' Sam shouted slamming down her luckily empty mug.

We stared at her wide eyed, blinking like deer caught in headlights, it had been a while since Sam had pulled one of her 'you guys are such girls' tantrums.

I glanced at Kayla who was biting her lip and gazing at her wardrobe that was hiding all of her fabulous but unworn party outfits.

'Well I guess I could do with some alcohol and a rebound' she smiled slyly.

'Great! It's settled! Be ready for 7 girls' Sam squealed, taking a bite from her toast.

I waited until I was alone to sigh heavily, it's not that I didn't like going out but I was too tired from the overtime I had to do to pay for the majority of the rent and the food and the bills.

Not only is going to clubs expensive but Kayla and Sam are so beautiful and sexy that they have their own fan clubs of guys to dance with all night and pay for their drinks so I never saw them whilst I was stuck on my own talking my problems away to the bartender.

Maybe tonight would be different...

...............

Eight pm rolled around and I was till waiting for the girls to get ready, I was wearing a plain black dress with heels and silver jewellery, nothing fancy or over the top.
