Drowning in my own tears, I stumbled to the familiar off white bedroom door. I slammed it behind me, and the walls trembled with my own body as I collapsed and slid down the wall. I wiped the salty clear stream that streaked down my cheeks, mascara left a black trace on my knit sweater that she had given me. I buried my nose in the soft warm material, and breathed deeply and absorbed my moms familiar smell.
And I still couldn't believe she was actually gone, gone for forever. My best friend. My mom. My fingers danced gracefully across the smooth paper and I began to write ;
Your dancing in the sky
Singing in the angels choir
Mama your looking down on me
Doing whatever you desireI feel you close to me
We have a bond no one can break
I'll love you for eternity
Whisper to me for the angels sakeMama your so beautiful
Oblivious, I never knew
In over my head
Never knew everything was falling throughI'll think of you all the time
Please I'd rather sit here and cry
Change everything around
Anything but let you die❤ I ended it there. I wasn't ready to face the child my mom had bore, the child she had died for. Time swirled around me, and the breeze chilled me to my bones. I heard a soft tap at my door, and quickly pulled myself under the warm comforter. I waited as the door opened and closed very gently.
"We won't be apart for eternity, I love Amber, you take care of little Sarah, I'm counting on you baby girl." Whispered a faint voice, I knew only I could here.
Fresh tears rolled down my face. Wrecking sobs consumed me whole, and knew for sure i was breaking right in half. I turned around and on my desk a picture of me and mama from last winter. We had matching Candys scarfs, & mini boots. Her hair was straight and blonde and reached past her shoulder blades. We were smiling at the camera obviously enjoying the moment, we were at the park, and snow placed a glittering sheet over the ground. I wiped my face, and tried to stay strong.
I turned the brass door handle silently and peered out into the hallway. I tiptoed to the baby's room, on the far right at the end of the hallway. Pastel pink colors were distributed all across the room, a pink crib, pink walls, pink blankets. I peeked into the crib, I burst out in sobs. A beautiful little girl, she had inherited mama's big turquoise eyes. Her skin was milky and soft. Her nose was aligned just right. I tucked her hand in mine, her tiny pink fingers were warm and toasty. I picked her up and sat in the big reclining chair, and she smiled at me. That was my one reason to smile.
"Your so beautuful , baby Sarah."
She made a sound as if sayingthank you.I smiled brightly while the tears were still flowing.
"Thank you mama"
