(Trigger Warning: Blood, Violence and the eating of a monster's SOUL.)
(A/N Edit: To all the Rereaders, I changed up the backstory in this chapter a bit, so look out for that!)

"C'mon, let's get you to the couches." Dust then gently dragged Classic over to Nightmare, who was currently seated on the couch. Dust then sets Classic on the couch next to Nightmare, said skeleton then wraps a tentacle around Classic and began to gently pet him, also trying his best to absorb the negativity to help Classic faster. "We'll work something out..." Nightmare muttered in an attempt of an assurance.

"Hopefully..."

"Brother!" A child in fluorescent blue and safety yellow exclaimed excitedly as he rushed up to the hill, where a child in purple plum and platinum sat besides a tree. (Search it up, those are legit colors-) "Hello Brother, did you had fun at the village?" The child aforementioned, who is known as Dream, nodded excitedly. "Yes brother! They showed me this cool spell they did! They told me that nothing bad would really happen to me when they do it, and they were right! But the magic thingy that glowed around were really really cool!" The ball of positivity exclaimed excitedly while the other brother, who is known as Nightmare, had their eyesockets widening in worry when his brother mentioned the villagers casting a spell on the golden skeleton.

"Brother, are you sure that the spell didn't affected you at all?" Nightmare worriedly asked as Dream then plops down next to his brother with a nods, Nightmare proceeding to check around Dream's physical attributes with worry. "Uhuh! All I really got was a weird tickly sensation, but nothing else! Don't worry brother, I'm sure it was nothing but a light show!" Dream chirped while Nightmare slowly nodded. "I hope that that's the case brother, I worry for you..." Nightmare muttered quietly to himself as Dream then leaned against Nightmare, humming peacefully and happily. Nightmare glancing at his sweet brother, and letting one of his small smiles decorate his face. Placing an arm around his positive brother.

Dream nervously fidgeted with his gloves as he walked towards the area of where they have chosen to frequently perform the ritual. It has been a few months or so now since the villagers has been trying the weird 'lightshow' spell on Dream, and they are trying and trying every other week or so. It was as if they're trying to do something to Dream, changing him or something. He felt it after the fourth time they tried it on him. Especially since whenever they would do the spell, he feel a bit more and more... Off... He, however, didn't want to voice out his fear to his friends the second time. The first time he tried, they got unhappy and called him a party pooper, telling him that they'll just go find someone else to do this with and telling Dream that they're sad that they will have to do it with someone else. He didn't want that. He wants the village to be happy after all! Nothing can beat his brother's company however, but he still wanted the villagers to at least stay away from Nightmare as much as possible as well, especially after knowing what they're doing to him. Though, it was starting to get a bit concerning whenever they would drag him away during his playtime and story sessions with his brother, even despite politely refusing some pther times. Nightmare says that it's okay, but Dream knows Night like the back of his skeletal hand, so he knows it's really not.

About the time that he had confronted the villagers though, as they were preparing the spell and setting up for the ritual, Dream spoke up about what he's feeling. Saying that he's starting to not like what's happening, and that the ritual is making him feel weird. The leader of the group had quickly shot him a look of betrayal, as well as the other villagers before they complained that Dream is ruining the fun, and then being sad that Dream doesn't trusts them anymore, telling Dream that he's being an awful friend, then moving on to say that they're doing what's best for Dream. Dream, at the time, fell into their manipulation. Not realizing the fact that he had already sensed a few red flags, being young and using his fragile trust to their corrupted heart's content. Which is the fact that they weren't actually feeling the emotions they were faking to convey, and the obvious gaslighting that Dream failed to see. Once Dream had fallen into their trap, they then continued with the spell over and over, until their magic sources had ran out in that one day. They seemed desperate for it to work if they kept repeating it after all. He just endured it as he really doesn't want to lose the 'connections' he's had with the villagers.
