Chapter two

"WAKE THAT AHH UP, WAKE THAT AHH UPPP" rings my alarm, Today is Friday, I love Fridays not because I go out later on or anything, but because I can finally sleep in and relax over the next two days.

I wake up at 6:00 am everyday because I stay far from my workplace and it take me at lease a hour for me to get ready. I turn off my alarm and start my morning routine.

My morning routine consists of me showering, brushing my teeth, standing by the sink for at least 20 minutes doing my skincare routine. I always stay consistent on my skin care just because I find it therapeutic.

I connect my phone to my speaker and played my morning playlist while I rub my skin with coconut oil. After moisturizing my body I got dressed. (Picture above) I wear jeans to work when I don't have any meetings planned that day. I put my natural hair in a messy bun, I'm still waiting for my new wig that I ordered to come in.

After doing my makeup and getting ready, I grabbed my bag, keys, and headed out. I pass by Rosaleches, a small cafe by the beach, to get a sweet tea, as I was typing on my phone Johnny, the owner said "Good morning Ruby, you look absolutely beautiful today"

Johnny is a elderly man he probably in his late 50s or early 60s, I always tell him that he should retire but he love running this place. " Thank you John, you don't look so bad yourself" I said with a big smile on my face.

"Don't lie to a young brother, You ordering the usual?" He asked saying the first part jokingly.

"Lie??? Never... and yes please" I said with a little chuckle. Johnny told rocky, one of his employees to prepare my order, I started to observe the customers in the café today.

Everyone is enjoying their morning coffee with their families and friends. There's this one couple with three babies, they were most likely triplets one of them started to cry after throwing the piece of apple to the floor. I feel a tap on my shoulder, I turn around and my eyes met with the darkest blue eyes I have ever seen.

It's this white tall man with tattoos all over his arm staring at me. "Umm...are you done ordering or?" He said slowly with a frown on his face.

That's when I noticed that I was still holding up the line, I smiled at him "sorry sir" I said while taking about 5 steps to my left. I started to study the man as he speak to Johnny.

He have full sleeve tattoos on both arms, his hair is low cut, and it seem like he's growing a beard. As I was in deep thought of the guy's appearance, rocky put my drink in front of me.

"Enjoy, have a blessed day Ruby" rocky said with a bright smile on her face that show her perfectly white teeth.

"Thank you love, you too. byeee Johnny" I said loud enough for Johnny to hear me while I was walking out and made eye contact with the man again.

I got to work late today so I'm staying a little later to complete my work. As I'm brainstorming a new commercial idea I heard a knock on the door, "come in" I shouted while taking off my headphones.

In came my assistant lucky, she's a petite dark skin girl with beautiful thick hair, that she always put in a bun. she's about 4'11 but with that height came a feisty attitude, she always keep it real with me and love to share her thoughts which make my job even easier because together we make the best advertisement projects.

She been working with me for over four years and we became the best of friends. "girl, you gone stay longer tonight?" she asked me as she walk towards my desk to sit at my guest chair.
