july 5th
hi ethan,
yes, this is y/n. i have been getting your letters and reading them the day you send them. sorry for not getting back to you sooner. i was scared, if i'm being honest.
but i would like to meet up. take my number and we can talk about it: 867-4521love, y/n
ethan dolan
i read her letter carefully. love, y/n? love?i grab my phone and type in her number as fast as possible.
me: hey it's ethan
y/n: hey
so i want to talk
wanna go to the coffee shop down the street?
tomorrow at 2pm?me: yes i'll be there :)
y/n: see ya <3
i shut off my phone and put it back into my pocket, my smile beaming.
this was really happening.
the following day. . .
since y/n lived a bit a ways away from me, i drove to the coffee shop. while she probably walked.
i was expecting her to be there first and when i walk through the door, there she is, sitting at one of the booths and looking down at her phone.
i stop, take a deep breath and proceed to walk to the table where she's sat.
"hey." i let out a breath i didn't know i was holding.
she looks up at me and her face brightens up.
"hey. sit down," she says as she motions to the seat across from her.
i sit down and look her straight in the eyes as she looks in mine.
"so what did you want to talk about?" i ask.
"your letters." she giggles. she is so adorable.
"right, right." i huff.
"well i just wanted to explain something i guess," she says and i nod, telling her to keep going. "i knew it was you since the second letter. because i saw you at the store too. you were wearing a white shirt tucked into black dress pants with a gucci belt— anyway, i was hoping it was you. because i—i love you, too. i tried to get over you as well. i'm actually with someone right now, but you're still on my mind. now that i know you feel the same way, i'm breaking up with him."
"i wanna kiss you right now but that would be cheating," i say and she huffs.
"me too. as soon as i break up with him, i'm finding you and i'm kissing you, i promise," she says and i smile.
"how long have you two been together?" i ask.
"not that long, a month or so," she replies. i nod.

a few days later. . .
it's been 3 days since that day. y/n and i haven't really spoken since so i guess she hasn't broken up with him yet. but that's okay, i'll be patient.
my thoughts are interrupted by the doorbell ringing. i was hoping it would be y/n, but wouldn't she text first?
i jog to the door and open it, revealing a smiling y/n. i return the smile.
"i broke up with him," she says.
as soon as i heard those words i crashed my lips onto hers, pulling her inside and shutting the door behind us.
she immediately kisses back and i feel nothing but sparks. it's like we're the only people in the world.
nothing feels better than this.
