Adrien loved the relationship he had with all of his friends. Especially, his best friend: Marinette Dupain-Cheng. They would hang out with their friends for ice cream and video games or just relax in the park and talk.
But when he was alone with her, he was able to be more affectionate. He could hold her in his arms and sometimes lay some of that Chat Noir charm on her and give her a kiss. It always put a smile on his face to see her fluster and turn pink. She was cute when she was flustered.
Of course, he couldn't do any of that in public. He had to uphold the Agreste name. So it was their secret.
One night, as Chat Noir, he heard a melody that pulled him to a certain rooftop: Marinette's. He got comfortable as he was lulled by her humming. He never expected her to start singing.

Chat frowned as he listened to Marinette's words.
'There's nothing wrong with what we have now.' he thought, turning and running home.
He would never know, by then, it was too late. Marinette Dupain-Cheng had made up her mind. She would confess to Adrien and if she was still 'just a friend', she'd move on.
