When I walk into the room there is a worried look on the Captain's face.
"What's going on? Is something wrong?" I ask curiously
"Sweetie," he says looking awfully sad "your mother was...bitten by one of the z's and is in the facility."
"How?" . These things don't affect me anymore because I was born into this plague and I'm already 16 years old, BUT I stiil have feelings!
"She was scavenging for supplies and got distracted and...you know the rest." He says avoiding my eyes.
"Wow, that's...horrible. But I'll give her mercy!"
"You are a very strong hearted girl , you know that?"
"Yes sir I've been told many times"
" Good, now get back to work young lady!
"Uhhh...which one? My escorting one, my Medical assistant one, my security one, or my daycare one?"
"How about you try the scavenging team?" He asks with a spark of joy in his eye because I'm pretty much good at everything (not trying to brag ) .
"Sure, I don't mind at all."
"Great! Good luck" he says walking out of sight.
