As she saw her reflection on the mirror and involuntarily touched her sindoor, realisation dawned upon Naina about the fact that she is now married to her mentor,Rajveer sir.
She saw the black beaded mangalsutra around her neck and felt Sindoor on her hair parting. In one moment,he took her hand and saved her from the insults, while the one she loved, left her in the dias to be insulted. Hot tears fell from her eyes as she sobbed.
She stood inside his... No.. their bedroom from now on. She observed the room very keenly. It was simple, neat and tidy. She had a soft smile etched on her face. Their room had a balcony facing towards the sea. There were two beanie bags and coffee table,as well,to spend leisure time.
She went inside the balcony to have some cool air. She felt suffocated.. She felt a bit better now, inhaling the fresh air. She felt someone's presence at her back.. She turned around to see Rajveer standing there. Their eyes locked together,as if reading their heart out.
"Woh.. I am sorry ki maine aise hi yahaan pe aagayi.." Naina spoke,to break the ice.
"Its perfectly okay, Naina. By the way, coffee piyogi?" Rajveer asked with a warm smile.
Naina nodded in a yes..
"Great.. Main kisiko bolta hu banane keliye. Tabtak, tum change karlo." He replied, ever so gently.
"Kya main bana sakti hu,please?" Naina asked after a pause.
"Sure.. Would love to taste it... Tabtak main change karke ata hoon." Rajveer smiled and left to change.
Meanwhile,Naina also changed in the next room and made coffee. Rajveer also came out after changing.
Rajveer helped to pick the tray while Naina opened the balcony door. Both of them sat down and sipped the coffee and enjoying the cool weather.
"Woh!!! Coffee acchi bani hai.. Thank you!!" Rajveer praised her.
"Thank you.." Small blush crept up on her cheeks.
A long pause was present in between them. They were out of words for the first timr,as man and wife.. Whereas,in the academy, both of them used to talk, share their problems, etc etc. In short, they were a perfect combination of mentor and protege.
"Naina.."
"Ji.."
"Mujhe kuch kehna hai tumse. I hope tum acche se sunogi aur samjhogi bhi.. Got it..
Lt. Naina Ah.. Singh?!!" Rajveer asked, pressuring on the last sentence,to make her smile. It did wake up many memories from their past, starting from joinimg KMA till they got married.
Surely, marriages do bring in changes, good or bad.
"Aap phirse shuru hogaye,Sir?" Naina laughed a little, forgetting her pain for a while.
Rajveer observed the way she laughs.. His heart was feeling at peace seeing his wife smiling.. He knows that it will take time for Naina to come around, but he is willing to wait for her.
"I know, humari shaadi jis haalato mein huyi hai,woh sahi hai ya galat... Pata nahi, par main dil se iss shaadi ko nibhana chahta hu.. Mujhe pata hai ki tumhe waqt lagega iss sadme se ubharne mein, and its completely okay.. Main tumpe koi zor nahi dalunga.. The final call will yours only!!" Rajveer said, sipping his coffee...
His words played in her mind. He is such a gentleman, giving her own space and time to think about their relationship. But,she also thought that she cant hurt him,as well..
"Thank you Sir,mujhe samajhne keliye. Main bhi puri koshish karungi taaki main iss rishte ko nibha saku.." Naina replied with a smile.
"Kya main tumpe koi zabardasti kar raha hu,Naina?" Rajveer asked curiously.
"Na!! Aap aisa mat sochiye,Sir. Main dil se bolrahi hu.. Main bhi iss rishte ko ek mauka dena chahti hu.. I know,we can make it together!!" Naina replied with a small smile.
Rajveer was blessed to have her in his life. He had this hope in his heart, that it will work.
"Naina, tum humare field of work ko jaanti ho na??" Rajveer asked worriedly.
"Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat... Aaphi ki protege reh chuki hu.. Mujhe pata hai ki it will work out.. Sabse zyada, mujhe aap par vishwas hai..." She replied with a smile.
Rajveer gave a whole hearted smile.. He took her hand in his and said,
"Naina,main tumhe bohut khush rakhunga."
This silent assurance from Rajveer made her smile a little,as she looked at him.
And,she believed her Rajveer sir.
