Memories of Sky

Prologue

Present time

"Skyn? Are you still with me?". I snapped out of reality when I heard a voice calling my name. That's when I realize that I am still in my office with my colleague Brix who happens to discuss a few things with me regarding our new trauma patient.
Brix is also a good friend of mine from medical school in college.

Matamlay akong tumango bago siya sagutin. "Yes? What were you saying again Brix?".

"Ang sabi ko, nakatulog ka ba ng maayos kaninang umaga? On-call ka buong gabi kahapon diba? You're thinking a lot of things Skyn, sabog ka". Biro niya sa akin habang tumatawa.

Napabuntong-hininga ako dahil hindi ako nakatulog ng maayos at literal na dilat na dilat ako magdamag. "You guessed it right, sinong makakatulog kung mayroon lang namang pasyenteng tututok ng scalpel sa lalamunan ng isang nurse kagabi?".

Nagkibit-balikat na lamang si Brix bago sipsipin ang natitira niyang kape. "What a normal night from this Hospital. Wait, ba't di kapa umuuwi? Tapos na duty mo ah?".

I closed my eyes trying to rest for a bit. "Leave me and my coffee alone Brix. I already discussed my opinion about the trauma patient from last night so utang na loob umalis kana."

Brix was about to leave when our phones vibrated signifying that we have new emergency patients coming. "I told you, sana umuwi ka nalang." Pang-aasar niya sa akin bago ayusin ang lab coat niya.

Inirapan ko siya bago suotin ang stethoscope ko at dahan-dahang tumayo. "Why don't you zip your mouth Brinx? I really prefer it that way". Biro ko bago tumakbo papunta sa emergency room.

Sinalubong ako ni Nurse Jill habang tulak-tulak ang pasyente ."We have two patients Doc, parehong critical at buntis." Pagbibigay-alam niya sa aming mga General Surgeon.

Bago ko paman tulungan ang mga rescuers maitulak ang stretcher ay naagaw na ang pansin ko sa boses ng lalaking sumisigaw sa labas ng emergency room.

Agad ko siyang nilapitan. He can't disturb the other patients resting inside the er. "Sir? Hindi ka pwedeng sumigaw dito, maraming pasyente ang nagpapahinga------". I stopped immediately when I realize who I was talking to.

"Sky?". Gulat niyang tanong sa akin. "Have you seen Alice? She was just here." He said in a panicky manner.

"Alice? The pregnant trauma patient?". Nanlamig ang mga kamay ko.

"Yes, Alice! Have you seen her? Save our baby Sky."

I was dumbfounded. "Wait what? Your baby?".

He looked at me worriedly.

"Is she your girlfriend?". I unbelievably asked him. My heart is racing out of nervousness as I was waiting for his answer.

He slowly nodded. "I'm sorry Sky." He then hurriedly ran towards the emergency room.

It's been a year. A year since I lost my memory. It's been exactly a year since this man showed up claiming that he is my husband and now he's saying that he has a pregnant girlfriend?
