I look at the people I used to know and asked everybody how they were. No one answers, I look at who is in the group chat and saw a person who's heart was once mine. Saw they have a girlfriend and my heart drops and my lips quiver and my eyes water but I don't cry. I don't cry because I knew that this would happen but it hurt anyways. I think it hurts because he was the only one that loved you, and he was faking it the entire time. It hurts because while he was moving on, you were stuck right where you were, in a crappy situation. But today is not the day to be sad, it's your birthday and you are going to party like never before. You got dressed in regular jeans and a top and did my makeup. You went to pick up some friends that needed a ride and headed to the venue.

The venue looked stunning and everyone who was there already seemed to be having a great time. "You worked so hard for this party, I hope it's everything you dreamed of. Happy birthday." Kaitlyn said as she hugged you. You smiled and thanked her and went through the crowds greeting people as they came to say happy birthday. About an hour in you and six others were sitting at one of the tables, telling jokes and laughing. sitting back and looking at everyone's smiling faces as they talk to each other you feel a wave of happiness. Just seeing them happy makes you never want to leave this moment. Suddenly a blaring alarm starts going off in the building and no one seems to hear it but you. Suddenly you jolt awake in your bed, you look at your phone that's in your hand and see your ex's Instagram up. "I must have fell asleep and dreamt of the party." You thought as you sit up and keep scrolling. You smile to yourself as you remember all the smiling faces.
