As I go to my locker and head to my first class I run into my best and only friend,roxy.roxy was the only person willing to open up to me and she is also a teenager like everyone else but she does not know that I live alone and that im hiding from the government and I do not expect to tell her anytime soon."hey Caroline want to go to first period together?" Said Roxy "OK" I said even though I was trying to find hiding spots because every month the government do these check ups at the school to make sure that no children are in the community or still alive and today is the day for the monthly inspection.usually the inspections don't start until last period but when the inircom came on I was extremely surprised and frightened when I heard "attention students,the monthly government inspections will begin now so please everyone stand by the hallway walls so that the police can inspect".as everybody is filling the hallways I run to my personal hiding spot in the janitors closet and I lock the doors and hide behind the brooms.as I sit there waiting for about an hour I hear a footstep and I hear a person trying to unlock the door and to my surprise the person who unlocked the door was a police officer.my whole body is shacking and I try to be as quiet as I could,as I see the police officer search the room I look at his tool belt filled with all sorts of knives and guns and I see his ID card and badge.when he leaves the closet he drops something but I can't see it due to the brooms in my face and after the officer left I hear on the inircom "OK students,the government inspection is over now please proceed to your second period".as I get out of the janitors closet I see the object that the officer dropped and it was his badge and ID card, I was in shock because ever since the child law started I always wanted to stop it so maybe this is the key but I need to look it up.when the school day is over roxy meets me by my locker "hey,why did you run when inspections were starting"? I try to make up an excuse and I end up using the same one every month "I had to go to the bathroom" and it always seems to work.as I walk home from school I pass by this church and there is this odd hobo lady sitting on the steps,she does not see my face because I keep my hoodie on the prevent exposure.when I get home I lock the door and head up to my room to put my stuff away as I close my door I hear a noise downstairs and I realize someone else is in the house.
