after namjoon drops off chan back at his house, he slowly walks in his house as he's too sad to do anything.

"felix... you-" chan falls to the ground letting go of his grip of felix, but felix still stays with chan.

chan opens his eyes, and he sees an unfamiliar place. it must be a hospital. there were nurses and he was on a bed with a tray filled with food.

"oh good you're awake" the nurse walks in.

"what happened?"

"you fainted in your house, you were dehydrated and you haven't been eating. luckily your mom called the ambulance" chan's eyes widen.

"m-my mom?"

"yes, she's in the waiting room we can bring her to you" she smiles.

"wait, where's my cat?" chan looks around and looks back at her.

"oh right, when the ambulance came they put your cat to the side so they could put you on the stretcher, but your cat nearly scratched the medic because I guess he wanted to stay with you" she chuckles and chan nods.

"where is he?" chan asks.

"your mom brought him, I'll go get her for you" she leaves the room.

am I dreaming?

the door opens again to reveal a sight, his mom and felix.

"m-mom?"

"hi chan" she walks closer to him.

"w-what are you... how... you... I-"

"there's something that you probably should know" she goes on. "I wasn't dead, I was with your dad"

"what!?"

"it's not like that trust me, it was 2 months ago I got a call from him, he found me and you he wanted to come home, but you know he was always on drugs and doing things he shouldn't have been. one day, I got another phone call and he threatened us, he was gonna hunt us down and do bad things to us. so I told him not to and I'll come to him and to leave you alone, he agreed to it and I did.

but he kept me hostage, he wanted something, I don't know what it is, but one day he left the building with door open and I left and I escaped, I've tried coming to see you but I always hesitated because I betrayed you. and I did betray you, but if I told you where I was going you would have come to stop it and I didn't want you to get hurt" chan remains speechless.

"wow... but you know you could have told me though instead of getting someone to be a fake doctor and tell me you're dead!" chan crosses his arms.

"but no, because I know you would come anyway, you're too stubborn to let me handle it" she says and chan looks away from her.

"nuh uh" chan still looks away from her.

"yes, and when I heard you go back home and I heard you fall, you should be glad I was here or who knows how long you would have been there" chan stays silent.

"wait, you said dad knows where we are, doesn't that mean he can come here to find us?"

"yes, but he's obviously stupid and forgot it" chan chuckles and nods.

"gimme him" chan puts his arms out and she puts felix in chan's arms.

"at least I still have you as a cat form" chan mumbles and his mom hears it.

"what?"

"huh? um nothing"

"are you mad at me?" she changes the subject.

"a little" he looks away from her.

"you should be, but I was protecting you from who knows what"

"actually there's something that you should know" chan looks at her again.

"what is it?"

"I wished upon a shooting star a couple of nights ago, and I wished felix could become human as a joke but it actually came true, but then he changed back into a cat"

"I kno-" she coughs. "what!?"

"I was beyond shocked at first, but then I got used to it pretty easily, and I... I fell for him" chan was nervous about the last part.

"oh chan that's great, I'm sorry he turned back" she says and chan looks down.

"it's not your fault, I guess there's a time limit on these things"

but it is my fault...

she stays quiet for a while.

"well I'm gonna let you get rest. I'll be back later to pick up felix, keep eating okay? I don't want you passing out again" she leaves the room and chan sighs.

"I wish I could have you in my arms" chan looks at felix and he just meows.

jungsae (chan's mom) leaves the hospital, with a sad look.

I wish I could have made sure he was there for you longer

she walks back to the house and there's a car outside.

"shit!" she runs away from the house.

well that wasn't sad
