INTRODUCTION
━━━━

Dangerous people have wanted Quinn Darhke dead for as long as she can remember. She was a direct descendant and the only heir of a criminal empire that ruled the entire supernatural underworld in San Francisco, so it kind of came with the territory. Being the daughter of a werewolf alpha who used violence to settle arguments and a siphon witch who stole magic just to make a point didn't help the whole ordeal either.

One of those people was Tyrion McQuoid and he was one cruel bastard. He had been trying (and failing every single time) to steal the empire from the Darhke family for decades. He killed, tortured and used innocent people for fun, and he also just so happened to be an immortal werewolf with a tendency to rip out hearts. Go figure.

But four years ago, the tyrant actually managed to overtake the entire Darhke empire in one week. It was, of course, with the help of some evil allies of his, but it didn't change the fact that dozens of supernatural creatures died during the overtaking, with many more being captured for execution. Everyone began to fear McQuoid and his allies even more than they already did, and that included Quinn's parents. Too afraid for their lives and too weak to fight back, they sent their daughter away and pledged their allegiance to the villain.

Forced to leave her family, her friends and her legacy behind, Quinn fled her home. She had a bounty on her head, so she travelled the world in shadows. Distrust and paranoia latched onto her like vines, and killing became something she had to do just to survive.

But once she crossed that line there was no going back – taking a life activated the werewolf inside of her, which made her more prone to anger and lack impulse control and that had its own consequences. However, it also activated her magic – and that made everything a lot easier for Quinn. Especially hiding from her enemies, and sometimes, allegedly, blowing them to pieces when push came to shove. So, it wasn't all-bad.

As Quinn kept learning more and more about this new part of her, she stumbled upon a small town called Beacon Hills. There, she met the ever-so-charming Isaac Lahey and together, they got dragged into a fight against an Alpha Pack and a mysterious killer who kept sacrificing people. She decided to stand beside Isaac's friend Scott McCall and his pack and help them win, despite her self-preservation screaming at her to run.

Once the threat was defeated and a victory party was held – courtesy of Lydia Martin, Quinn realised she found a new home without meaning to. And it wasn't Beacon Hills – albeit she adored the small town; it was the friends she made along the way and the pack she grew to be a part of without meaning to. Despite the empty feeling inside of her chest that didn't seem to want to go away, she felt truly happy for the first time since her family crumbled.

But she could never forget San Francisco and everything in it that she abandoned. McQuoid still ruled over the city with terror and a level of cruelty never seen before. The number of casualties kept rising since the bloodshed didn't seem to stop. Sorrowfully, Quinn's mother fell victim to Tyrion's heart-ripping hand and became one of the casualties herself.

As Quinn's father drowned in grief, burying his suffering in loneliness and alcohol, Quinn turned to vengeance. With unspeakable anger boiling in her veins and murder on her mind, she swore to bring justice to her mother by killing her killer. Quinn came back to San Francisco to do just that, but she got captured only a day after crossing the city limits. She was held captive, forced to suffer unbearable torture at the hands of Tyrion McQuoid and his followers, and months later, killed.
