~EMMA'S POV~
Hi, I'm Emma. Let me tell you about what happens from start to finish. I'm gonna start with what happened the morning of my first day of High School. I woke up with my portable speaker blaring "Not like the Movies" by Katy Perry. I turned my speaker off and checked my phone. I had so many texts but I just ignored them all. I got out of bed to take a shower. (I like to sing in the shower) I was singing "Don't" by Ed Sheeran. After I got out of the shower I went to go pick out clothes for the day. It was the first day of High School so I had to look hot! ( I'm a senior) After I got out my silk pink dress and silver heels, I went to go do my hair and make up. I didn't have much time to do my hair so I just put it in a bun and added a pink bow to match my dress. After I check my face for any mess ups, I grabbed my phone and I noticed a text from my "friend" Kaitlyn. "Where the hell are you?!" I read. "On my way! Don't flip!!" I texted back. I pulled up to the school in my red HondaS2000 to find Kaitlyn standing in the parking lot waving at me. I could see her infinity sign tattoo on her wrist from a distance. I got out of my car and ran to hug her. Her baby blue hair smelled like ocean breeze, which was the scent of her shampoo that she used daily. We walked into the school together and went to the gym to sit down. I sat next to her (obviously) we talked until the bell rang to go to Lockers and Homeroom. I walk with Kaitlyn until I reached my destination. I walked into class to see all my old friends from last year. I saw Chelsea, Nova, and Holly. They all waved and called me over. We talked for awhile until and unknown face walked into the room. He had brown hair, green eyes (that look like they should belong to Angels) and he was pretty tall. He was really nerdy with his Pokémon shirt on. He had glasses too. We seemed like polar opposites. "Omg, is he really wearing a Pokémon shirt right now?" Nova said with a giggle. "He is kinda muscular looking though." Holly said in a flirty voice. "You guys! He's a nerd! We can't flirt with someone of a different kind!" I said sarcastically. We all laughed. He looked over at me and flashed me a gentle smile and dorky wave. All I could do was smile back. I don't know why I did though. I knew I was breaking my own rule just about now. Why did I smile back?
~JAMES' POV~
•Just waking up•
My alarm plays its normal Mario intro music. I groan and peel myself from my bed. Then I hit snooze and walk to the bathroom. My appearance is dreadful. My brown curly hair sticks in different directions, my green eyes are dull, and everything looks blurry. I wipe the sleep from my eyes and slide on my black glasses. I pick up the tube of toothpaste and put some on my tooth brush and brush my teeth. High school is not my scene so I don't think twice about my Pokémon shirt and old jeans. I straighten my hair and then jump in circles trying to pull on my black converse. I fall flat on my face and sigh. Why am I so clumsy all the time? "I'M HERE LOSER!" Isabella yells. Her bouncy blonde hair pops into the door frame. "Why are you laying on the floor? Are you having one of those days again?" She asks worriedly. I shake my head and stand up. After a couple of awkward seconds in silence I say "Let's go. I don't want to be late." We walk out and climb into her old car. She turns on the radio and turns it up loud. The music sounds strained and staticky. I tune it out until I see the large West Brooke High sign.
I slide the straps of my book bag onto my shoulder. Jocks, Emos, cheerleaders, and outcasts stand in circles outside. My friends and I are socially awkward so we don't like to stand outside and risk confrontation with anyone so we stand inside. There aren't many of us so the principle lets us come in because our grades and push-over attitudes. The teachers also pity us and sometimes that's not so bad.

I see Howard and Phillip waving at me and Isabella. Howard is really tall and lanky and easily shadows Phillip a.k.a. Phil. We step out of the car and enter the building. "Hey James! We missed you over the summer!" Howard beams and smiles with his braced teeth. I duck my head and put my hands on my pockets. Isabella hooks arms with me and drags me over to them quickly. They talk loudly about anime, video games, and what not. I stand quietly so that I don't put any attention on myself. Suddenly I see a beautiful girl step out of her car and I can't help but stare. Her hair is gracefully pulled back in a bun with a small bow. She walks fast to a blue haired girl and hugs her. Maybe they are friends. I start to imagine hugging her and being her boyfriend. I snap out of my thoughts because I don't know this girl. The bell rings and I sigh and try my best to squeeze through the ocean of flesh. I reach the door of first period and I stand in front while kids slowly walk in trying to find the best seat possible. I spot the girl from earlier and my kind instincts kick in and I wave like a dork. I mentally slap myself and sit at the corner of the room away from her whispering group. I pull out a piece of paper and begin to doodle and ignore the teacher babbling about her life.
