Chapter nine
(Lilly POV)
I had to go back to the mansion. Only for a little while. I walked in through the back door, I don't want Jack to see me. Ben was in the kitchen making a sandwich. He heard me come in. "Thought you ran away." He said throwing a glance to me. "I wouldn't blame you," he continued, "Jack's pretty terrible."
"Shut up, Ben. We're just having problems." I mumbled. "Problems? Problems that cause you to just get up and leave your family? Problems to just abandon your child with a house full of serial killers? You put a lot of trust in us Lilly, maybe you shouldn't."
Ouch.
I sighed. "You're right." I admitted as I dropped myself in a chair. "I am? I mean- I am." Ben said pausing in the middle of making his sandwich. "You're right," I put my head in my hands, "I'm a terrible mother."
Ben sat down next to me and patted my shoulder. "No you're not. You're just," He drifted off for a second, "new to this." I sighed. "So where's Jackie?" I asked.
"Well, the thing is, she hasn't been out of her room since you left." Ben said nervously. "Oh my God." I said, I quickly rushed up to her room, not to mention almost pushing down a confused Jeff in the process. Her room was locked.
I softly knocked on it. "Jackie, sweetie. It's mommy." I said, my voice shaking. Within a few seconds, her door flew open and I was greeted with a pair of tiny arms snaked around my thighs.
"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! I missed you!" Jackie yelled, not being able to contain her excitement. "I'm here now. I missed you too." I said bending down to hug her.
"How've you been, kiddo?" I asked with my face in her hair. She smelled faintly of petrichor. I love that smell. It's very relaxing. "I have to go talk to Uncle Slendy. I promise I'll be back later. I love you, okay?" I said breaking the hug and staring at her. She's gorgeous. "Sure mommy." She said smiling at me before going back into her room again.
I stood up straight and started walking down the hall and heading towards Slendermans office. I was nervous. What do I say? How do I say it?
I stopped in front of his office. I'll admit it, I'm nervous. I could hear quiet voices and whispers. I lightly knocked on his office door. I heard shuffling in the room before it opened. "Oh. Hello child, I'm a bit busy now, can you come back later?"
"This is important." I said nervously. He hesitated for a moment. "This isn't a good time."
"Please?" I asked. I remembered he was talking before. "Who is in there with you? I heard a voice." I asked. He tensed up. "How much did you hear?" He asked me. "I couldn't make out what you were saying, but who's in there with you?"
"That's none of your concern, child. I suggest you leave me to my business for a while and try coming back later." He said as politely as he could. I gave him a dull look. "Please let me in. The longer I stand out here, the bigger the chance I get to see Jack. I don't know what to say to him, and I don't want to see him until I do."
Slendy took a step closer and I backed up, confused. He shut the door behind him, but his hand was on the handle. "Lilly. I'm attending a very urgent matter and it need strategically planned actions. Please, I'll come to you when I'm ready. For now, please go spend time with Jackie, she has missed you."
And that I did. Later he came into her room. "I can see you now." So I got up and followed him into his office. "So what did you want to discuss?"
