I dropped the box on the floor with a deep sigh.

"Cheer up kiddo," my dad spoke from behind me."It's a chance for a new start." My dad's job got relocated last month which caused my mom, dad and I to move with it. Alexander, New York, Los Angeles, then finally California in the blink of an eye.

"I don't understand why I couldn't have just stayed back home," I whispered as I turned to face my father.

"You know I'm not comfortable letting you live across the country from your mother and I," he stated. "It isn't safe."

He kissed my forehead before exiting. I turned around scanning over my new room. It was bigger then the one I had in Alexander that was for sure. I walked over to my bed and sat down starting to go through some of the boxes.

I start college next week at UCLA and I am kind of nervous if I'm being honest. I don't really know what to expect. You could say I have been sheltered by my parents my whole life and starting all over in one of the biggest cities in the country really isn't what I am used to.

I finish hanging all of my clothes into my closet by the time my mother calls me for dinner. As I ascend down my houses grand stair case I begin to smell the aroma of food wafting through the house.

"That smells amazing," I comment as I sit down at the hard wood topped dinning room table.

"Thank you sweetie, it's just something I whipped up," my mother says as she places a plate of food in front of me. Seconds later my father sits down at the end of the table.

"So darling are you excited for next week?" My mother asks as she sits down at the opposite end of the table from my father.

"Yeah just a little nervous," I mumble as I dig into my food.

"You will do fine," my mother smiles at me. I smile back even though butterflies erupt in my stomach.

"I want you to look into getting a job tomorrow," my father buts in.

"Okay," I sigh.

We finish most of our dinner in silence. I say goodnight and go upstairs to have one more night of peace, before job hunting.

After brushing my teeth I slide into bed and turn my laptop on before going to Netflix. I fall asleep watching Serena argue with Blair.
....

I wake up the next morning with the light shining through my window and onto my face. After I showered and applied light makeup I throw on a quick outfit which consists of my favorite pair of white shorts, white converse, a v-neck and a flannel wrapped around my waist. I throw my long brown wavy hair into a pony tail and walk down the stairs with my purse crossed across my body.

"Good luck with the job interviews today kiddo," my dad says as he rushes out the door off to work.

"Always working," my mother chuckles as she kisses me on the forehead good morning. "Do you know where you plan on applying?"

"I looked up some options on my phone last night but I'm not completely sure yet," I reply.

"Okay just be safe and call me if anything happens," my mother smiles at me as I grab my keys off the key rack by the door.

"Okay I will, bye love you," I say.

"Love you too," she answers as I close the door behind me.

I click my keys to unlock my dark blue Jeep. As soon as I climb in I turn the A/C and music on. Traffic is crazy but I guess I will just have to start getting used to it.

The first place I stop is a small coffee shop, but the owner is a total jerk so I cross that one off my list. My second stop is to a clothing store but as soon as I walk in I know it was a mistake; it reeks of smoke. My third stop is a gym called The Gym in a suburban area. As soon as I walk in I'm impressed, the floors are white and are so clean you can practically see your reflection.

"How can I help you today?" A blonde girl asks. She looks to be in her early twenties and has ocean blue eyes, the opposite of mine. She smiles brightly at me and I return the smile.

"I saw an ad that said you were hiring and was wondering if that position was still available?" I respond.

"I'm not sure let me get my manager for you," she says with another pearly white smile before walking away.

I take her absence as a chance to look around. There are hundreds of workout machinery through a glass wall to my right and what looks to be personal training rooms to my left. Straight ahead are five doors which resemble offices. I am taken out of my scan of the building when I am met with a pair of blue eyes.

"Hello my name is Mr.King but you can call me Sebastian," he smiles at me a hand out in front of him. "I'm the manager of The Gym."

"Cassie Lamlock," I say as I shake his hand and return his smile.

"I understand you are interested in a job here?" He asks.

"Yes sir."

"Okay well why don't you follow me to my office so we can discus this further," Sebastian says with a smile.

My assumptions are proven correct as he leads me to the doors behind the reception desk. Sebastian's office is clean and has a dark oak desk right in the middle with white plush chairs in front of it.

"Please take a seat," he says."Can I offer you anything to drink?"

"No I'm okay thank you though," I reply.

"Very well, lets get straight to business then," he chuckles. Fifteen minutes later Sebastian is done asking me questions and still has a smile on his face.

"Well Miss. Lamlock I personally think you are more than qualified to be an employee here."

"Thank you so much."

"Of course, now let me get Nikki in here so she can show you around and you can start tomorrow at eight am?"

"That sounds awesome."

Sebastian calls Nikki in and the girl from before walks into the office. Nikki seems like a sweet girl despite the fact that she winks at almost every guy that passes as she gives me the tour. I can't help but think that she gets around.

"And this is the boxing ring, sometimes we hold scrimmages here for boxers," she says as we walk around the ring which is in the back of the gym behind all the workout machines.

"That's basically all of the gym, so do you have any questions?" She asks.

"Just one what should I wear to work?" I ask.

"I usually wear workout clothes so like leggings or spandex, Sebastian doesn't really care," she chuckles.

"Oh okay, well thank you for the tour," I smile.

"Oh no problem sweetie," she says and then makes her way back to the front of the gym. I follow in suit and walk out of The Gym to my Jeep with a small smile on my face. I got the job, and can finally start something to keep my mind off of college next week.
